Everything about our dinner was grand! The atmosphere was warm and comfortable, and the waitstaff was super friendly. The bread and cornbread were fresh tasting, the drinks intrsting and we'll made. One of the appetizers we got was the crab dip, which was cheesy while not being oily. We also got the roasted Brussels sprouts, which were nice. For my main course, I got the scallops, which were just awesome. The only thing that was messed up was my side. I ordered the mac and cheese, but they gave me the mashed potatoes instead. I did turn out to be a good thing cause the mashed potatoes were really good. I did try someone elses Mac and cheese, and it wasn't very good. Pretty bland. So i'm glad I got the mashed potatoes instead. For desert, we got the milk and cookies, which were really good! Overall, I would hands down go back. It's pricey, but not as pricy as I thought.
Overall I found Gibbet Hill Grill to be a 5/5. The atmosphere and service were top notch. We were a little disappointed in the food given that everything else was so great. The truffle fries were soft with very little truffle flavor. Mashed potatoes and maple carrots were also disappointing. The meat and the chicken pot pie were both good. It was might wife's birthday and it was nice that they put candle in her creme brulee and did not make a bigger deal than that.
February 2024: I don't know why Gibbet Hill is rated so high. The food is fine, but not outstanding. The reservation time is just a suggestion. We had to wait 10 minutes to be seated past our reservation time and we were on tight schedule with a concert after dinner. The front desk was not apologetic, so clearly this was how things normally run here. The duck confit had soggy skin, but the brussel sprouts were very good. Filet mignon was ordered as medium rare and was prepared as requested. It was fine but not as good as Mooo by or Mortons. The waitress was the bright light, friendly and efficient.
I loved this place! Service was outstanding, the food was amazing, and the place itself is beautiful. It was really a pleasant experience. If you are around this area, please go there!
Exceptionally cozy atmosphere, but I had much higher hopes for the food. My nearly $50 filet mignon came out lukewarm and slightly undercooked. Our service was kind and engaging, but slow, although I recognize this was likely due to being stretched thin on a Saturday. The drink options are fantastic, and the appetizers we're excellent, but a sub-par main course at such a restaurant wasn't expected. Shame, I can't say I'd be in a hurry to return.

This is a really wonderful restaurant located on a beautiful farm. Looks like a great special event space. Our food was very good. I enjoyed a cup of clam chowder and I also ordered the Salmon. The only thing I wasn't fond of was the eggplant puree....kind of woody tasting. But the rest was fine. Others at our table enjoyed the halibut and the chicken pot pie. My only complaint about the evening was that the atmosphere is loud. We were at a corner able and still....very loud and felt like we had to shout to hear each other. Staff was very friendly and pleasant.
Wow, what a fantastic meal and experience. My mom was in town visiting and I wanted to take her somewhere special for an early dinner. I had Gibbet Hill recommended to me multiple times and I thought it was the perfect place. We called 2 hours in advance to make a reservation, and thank goodness we did, as it was incredibly busy!
The atmosphere is cozy, the fireplace was going, snow was flurrying outside...it made for such a lovely and cozy vibe! We both ordered the clam chowder to start and it was delicious! I wish there was a bit more to it (clams and potatoes were a bit lacking) but the flavor was absolutely outstanding. For my meal, I ordered steak tips with two sides: Mac and cheese and maple glazed carrots. Everything was stellar. The flavor of the steak tips was incredible and they were cooked perfectly. The sides were very good as well, although I wished the mac and cheese had a bit more flavor- it was still very creamy with the right amount of breadcrumbs.
We were too full to order a dessert, but I'm hoping to try one when we return! This isn't an inexpensive place, but I feel all the prices are more than fair for the quality and portion size. It's the perfect place for a special meal or date night, especially with the beautiful views!
