Absolutely love Shane at Fringe! He's totally tamed my insane hair and gives the cutest shaggy, low maintenance cuts (which I need!) Blowouts are also amazing, but the thing I love about Shane's cuts is the ability to air dry my hair and be good to go. Personality also amazing, always feel so (probably too haha) comfy in the chair. highly recommend.

Sean is the best!! He cut my hair 1 1/2 years ago and it grew out beautifully, and I just visited today for a touch up and more layers and I'm so happy with it. Sean has a great eye for angles with the cut and totally delivered on what i asked for.

I recommend this place for the fantastic stylists Annabel and Andrea; you truly can't go wrong booking with either of them. Otherwise, this place really needs a vibe makeover. The playlist alone almost kept me from returning.

See Shane! I came in with only an idea of what I wanted, and Shane provided a thorough consultation for my cut and color that considered my undertones, lifestyle and cowlicks. He provided huge attention to detail while describing the process step-by-step - and I have to say, I’ve been running around in the summer humidity and rain, and my hair still looks so good!!! I came here to apply my own henna mix on my hair - but Ashraf has suggested that I try their organic hair color solution that would give me similar results without the hassle of organic henna and the long hours wait - do I did! I loved the results and in fact my hair is still healthy and shiny ! I even cut my hair with Ashraf who did a fabulous pop cut to me that really made me so happy :) thanks Ashraf for your advice and for your kind service:) truly an artist !

Alyssa Lopez HANDS DOWN THE BEST HAIRSTYLIST, I’ve ever let handle my head!! She was considerate, attentive and all around the best person to ever meet my hair standards. She made sure that I was happy about what I wanted, she didn’t try to steer me away but she educated me on my hair and its texture. When you’re sitting on a chair for that long you’re going to want a good social interaction and she’s so professional, bubbly and by far the sweetest stylist. She’s definitely creative with what she does and has an eye for what she loves to do. I love the energy and environment the owner created at this salon, the other stylists definitely were so supportive and helpful!!

I will definitely recommend Alyssa for anyone who’s interested in getting their hair done but has trust issues like me haha. She will not disappoint. I left fully satisfied.Looking forward to go back for touch ups again.

As much as I would love to gatekeep - this is the best salon in NYC. I've been coming here since 2019 before I moved to the city and have been consistently seeing Lizzy for my cut since I decided to try bangs in 2020. I don't even have to tell her what I want anymore - she understands my dream hair and I leave the chair with it every time. Now I can't even imagine myself without bangs and the style she graces me with and run to book an apt the second I see them growing out. She makes me feel so sexy and confident and I've never gotten more compliments by (guys & gals) on my hair. I even like to think of her as my first friend/comfort person in the city since I moved here in 2020 - whenever I'm in the area I always have to stop by for a Lizzy hug.

Also started seeing Mykel for my blonde this year and the same goes... I'm obsessed with my color every time. She helped me get to the bright blonde I've always wanted but also keeps it so healthy and educates me on how to care for it. I no longer have a root - it grows out seamlessly without a line so I can go months without getting it lightened again. She's the sweetest and I'm so happy I finally found someone I can stick with and trust that I will always leave with my hair looking perfect!

Bianca (the owner) is also the sweetest and so accommodating! Its been exciting to see Hair Salon grow and flourish and I couldn't recommend it more!!

Quite literally the BEST color and style I’ve ever received in Manhattan (or anywhere, for that matter) Alyssa listened to every single detail of what I wanted and then delivered above and beyond. Ashraf is a genuine expert in all aspects of hair! I’ve been going to her for years and when I travel and miss my appointments for long periods the state of my hair declines! She restores it back as soon as I resume her treatments! She has the most amazing and deep routed knowledge of her products and her ability to immediately diagnose what is causing my hair to fall or break and remedy it is magical! She is worth more than five stars! The salon and products are incredible but without her expertise they would not be as valuable!

I have been coming to Hairthrone for the past 3 years. I see Mykel & I can honestly say I always trust what she does with my hair. I have very dark hair & Mykel has worked wonders in lightening my hair without damaging it. I always love how it comes out straight out of the salon chair ( I never have to wait to like it or get used to it).
I recently got married in December 2023 & Mykel left my hair amazing!! I did my coloring 2 days prior to the wedding (like i said the trust is there). I was recommended this place by a very trustworthy friend. I’ve been having trouble finding someone that understands how to work with my hair type but I was overdue for a haircut so I decided it was time. Mike was amazing. I came here for the first time and it definitely gives “hidden gem” vibes. I saw Zinniah for a hair coloring and cut appointment; did not disappoint at all. She is very thorough and knowledgeable in what she does ensuring to not compromise the health of my hair. This is especially important for me as a curly haired girly who wants lucious blonde curls. It’s fairly quiet and relaxing here, my experience overall was a 10/10 and I will definitely come back.

I’ve never been loyal to any salon/ stylist. Ashraph is the absolute best! This place blew my mind. Asked for a simple trim with layers- (I’ve had this cut many times in my life). I look like a new person- bouncy hair, volume, and also exactly what I wanted for a reasonable price. They use all organic products and it’s pregnant- friendly. Obsessed.

I got an amazing haircut and color with Brandy this morning! She’s so talented- she took my jibber jabber rambling request and did that & then some! She made me feel like a million trillion bucks 💜 and finally got the purple peekaboos I’ve wanted my whole life

Kai and Derek were great!! I had a hair emergency and Kai jumped in and not only corrected my color, but she gave me an even better color than I expected. She listened to my needs, looked at my skin tone and eye color, and used her 20+ years of experience to knock it out the park with my color. I even received two sets of compliments about my hair color later that day (and that never happens). Derek was just cool, empathetic, and professional; and put me at ease. Thank you both! I will def return next time Im in the States again.

Mike is simply. expert at color and cut, and knows how to get you results that make you look and feel your best. He is worth every penny.

Do not get your hair done here. Mike is very nice but this is the worst highlights and cut I’ve ever had. Way too many highlights like almost single process look. I asked for very few with plenty of contrast to my real color. And highlights were nowhere near the root so it already looks rooty 2 days later. And there were odd long pieces left so I had to get the cut fixed. And it cost over $750.00.

Naiomi is absolutely amazing. She has such a beautiful aura. She’s such a great listener and extremely helpful. My hair was completely damaged from trying to dye my own hair during the pandemic and it’s because of her that it looks phenomenal and healthy. I also began my natural curly hair journey with her because she made me feel so comfortable and confident about it. I will follow her wherever she is and continue to recommend her to everyone I know. You will not be disappointed.

I’ve known Ashraph, the owner, for over 30 years and she is the most talented hair dresser I know. Her cuts are amazing and look as good the first day as they do a year later! I have always gotten compliments on her cuts even from strangers! I sometimes don’t see her for a few years, but I always go back. She is one of a kind and truly amazing. She always tries to make you look your best! Love her!

Only days before my son’s wedding I had a terrible hair coloring experience. Thank goodness I found Mike! With his amazing color correction skills he restored my hair and with wisdom and genuine empathy, my spirits. Highly recommend.

Went to get my hair colored and a trim. Color is amazing, will definitely be coming back, have gotten a lot of compliments! The woman who did my hair coloring and trim was very kind. Clean salon environment as well. Even came back the next week to buy the styling products she used on my hair!

Mike is amazing and so talented. He really worked with me to make my vision come to life, and was so helpful with recommendations on what would look best. He has a wonderful personality and made me feel very comfortable, and it was lovely chatting during the appointment. SO happy with my balayage / highlights and, more generally, with how my hair looks and feels - thank you!

UPDATE: adding some stars because when I contacted the salon (3 weeks after my appointment when I felt the color still wasn't settling in) they were responsive and very kind about refunding me. So their customer service, aside from my experience with my stylist, has been very good and caring.

I wanted a corrective color. I was blue and she said she could get me to dirty blonde and I was fine with that, thinking I’d come back in 4-6 months to go lighter blonde. I knew this would be a process. I wasn’t expecting my blonde to be back in one session even. Little did I know I wouldn’t be close to dirty blonde after three hours in the chair with Noemi.

She started by saying she’d get me to dirty blonde. She first tried to get all the blue out of my hair. She was optimistic and at one point even said she wished she could show a colleague because she was amazed at how much of the blue she got out. I think she used the word transformation but I can’t remember. At the time I was feeling optimistic given her response.

She then suggested a milbon hair treatment. I asked some questions to understand what that would do and when she said it would help keep the hair healthy, I agreed. After the treatment she asked if I wanted a blowout or regular dry and I opted for a regular dry because I didn’t want to pay more money on top of the $600 for a styled blow out. When she was done I was shocked. In utter disbelief. I thought to myself “she can’t be done.” My roots were orange. My hair below the roots was grey/green. I asked her “what would you call this color?” She hesitated. I said “it’s orange grey green” and she said “yeah” … not quite the “dirty blonde” she kept saying she was aiming for. I stared at the mirror in disbelief and she could tell I was upset. She urged me to step outside so I could see the color outside in natural light. It was raining and gloomy (how fitting) but I obliged. She handed me a mirror on the sidewalk and nothing felt better when seeing it in the “natural light”. I came back inside and she said I couldn’t touch it for atleast three months. I said I couldn’t leave the salon like this as I have a job, work trips, etc. and her attitude immediately changed. She wasn’t trying to help anymore, she seemed dismissive. She explained she could put a toner (I think it was a toner) on the roots to closer match the colors and bring me to brunette. I took that option because what other option did I have?

She returned with the toner and quickly threw it on my roots (she had another client arrive at the tail end of my tragedy) and then she rinsed, blow dried and dismissed me rather quickly. She said she could try for blonde again in February. When I asked “so you want me to come back in three months and try again and you’ll charge another 600 then, right?” She said yes with little remorse. She said she’d “speak to her manager” but I didn’t feel any reassurance. She later texted to say my next gloss, which I could do in 2-3 weeks, would be “on her” … at the time I said thanks, I appreciate it and I’d check in in a few weeks once I’d settled into the color. Few weeks later I don’t intend to get s gloss at Laicale. A professional salon gloss treatment is typically 50-100. A store bought kit is 10-30. I appreciated the gesture when I got the text but the more I think about it now the more I am insulted by it. I would gladly pay another salon $100 to avoid having to go through trauma with Noemi again. I wouldn’t trust her again with my hair in a million lifetimes.

I knew going from blue to blonde wouldn’t be easy. I knew it would be a process. That’s why I started the process an entire 6 months before I was hoping to be blonde. I didn’t think choosing a high end salon in soho would leave me out $600, traumatized and with the worst hair I’ve ever had in my entire life. I am PRAYING to the hair gods and universe that I can get back to blonde with length that is even a little beneath my shoulder in six months as I get married this summer, but I’m terrified that won’t even be able to.

I've never been this happy with my cut or color. He turned my super dead-looking hair into a shiny bouncy miracle. Literally couldn't even believe it was me. He gave me the *cutest* bangs & cut (I'm very critical of my bangs because round face problems). I was so happy that I asked him for a color consultation right after. I've always avoided color because I'm a brunette with thin, easily-damaged hair, but I went back to Steven for balayage-style highlights. He's so easy to talk to, consults with you every step of the way, and delivers what you want in the end. I had zero doubts sitting in his chair! My hair and bangs have never looked so prettyyyy ✨

It was truly a wonderful experience, my hair looks amazing. I had very damaged, flat, streaky highlights, brassy, orange blonde hair, it was a mess! Koby gave me beautiful balayage while preserving the health of my hair and not using bleach. He also cut about 4/5 inches and gave me layers. I have honestly never been so pleased with a shorter hair cut. I feel completely refreshed and confident, he really takes every detail into consideration like even eye color. You will definitely feel the passion and creativity in Koby’s work. I absolutely recommend this place and will be coming back with my sister.

I’ve been seeing Andi for a while now and I have finally decided to give a well deserved review. It’s usually so easy to say your first time anywhere was nice, but with her I’VE NEVER HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE. She ALWAYS delivers. She listens to my concerns and what I want from my appointment. If you want to get your hair done but you want to get it right the first time go see Andi. Not only is she extremely talented but she knows how to give her clients what they want based on their personal style and aesthetic.

I've been seeing Andi for years!! She is attentive, absolutely charming, and if not THE best colorist in the city--she will make your hair look like a million bucks! She's highly knowledgeable (and sort of a mad scientist I like to say) and you can tell that she's truly passionate about her craft. Every time we meet I let her do her thing, she's an artist and I know I'm in the best hands!

I’ve been going to Andi for years, she literally saved my hair from a home dye job gone horribly wrong about 5 years ago. She got my hair color back to where I wanted it to be (almost-black super damaged hair to a rich auburn color) and has also recommended so many great products that work well for my hair, which I always thought was just really unmanageable. I trust her w my color 100% and that can be really hard to find in the city. She knows what she’s doing. She’s also super fun and funny! Can’t recommend her enough

Andi always nails my color. Her painting leaves me looking naturally enhanced and she creates the most gorgeous tones. My highlights grow out so gradually, I’m able to go months in between appointments. She always make me feel my absolute best.

To start off this review I want to give background my hair was horrible going into any salon and I really needed a place that would fix everything from the flat shape to the color due to another overpriced salon sadly, ruining my curls. When looking for a salon I was intrigued initially seeing that alibi used hair care that is completely detergent free. This made me happy considering my hair is curly, temperamental and doesn’t react well to detergents, so I decided to call. I was able to get an appointment and I’m so glad I did. Initially going in I had a completely different idea as to how I wanted my hair to look, but I also did admit to needing help with what would look best on me and we decided that he could give my hair a much needed make over. All the products used smelled so nice and natural and felt extremely conditioning and lightweight on my curls. Not only did I appreciate the products used, my stylist Koby took the time to assess what was needed and consulted another stylist to make sure my hair would tone up snd turn out perfectly. When waiting for the dye to set, Koby told me I was able to go relax on the private salon patio, while I waited for a rinse, which is a rare find in New York and such a nice, comforting vibe. After washing, it was time for the hair cut; he suggested bangs, and a choppy, lots of layers cut, and I was open to any style so I let him roll with it. For my first ever set of bangs, I couldn’t be happier with the turnout. Koby really has an eye for choosing a style that not only fits your face, but your style and vibe. I can say with confidence that this was the best salon experience I’ve had thus far, and I never write reviews but this one was well deserved. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY suggest this salon, and thank you again Koby for the awesome hair makeover!

Amazing experience my hair was black and naturally I'm a blond. Mike brought my hair back without damaging it!! I feel like a new person. And the blow out I had from Alberto OMG I had so many compliments the next day at work for all the big bosses it was fantastic. I couldn't be more thrilled to finally find a colorist who knows what that their doing without chopping hair off and frying it, bonus he listened and told me everything he was doing. Amanda is the best stylist I’ve ever met. I have really challenging hair - it is curly, fine, has split ends, and also is grey in some areas - but every time I get my hair colored or cut and colored by Amanda, it looks awesome. She takes such care to make the cut just right and the blow dry absolutely perfect.
Amanda also did my hair for my wedding recently (extensions and all) and I’ve never felt more confident about how my hair looked than that day. She also did my mom’s hair and the hair of 3 of my bridesmaids for my wedding and everyone looked fabulous. And Amanda had never worked on any of their hair prior.
Besides being extremely skilled, Amanda is also super friendly and funny so spending the time with her at the salon (or most recently at the hotel getting ready all day for my weddding) is a great time. Highly recommend for anyone who is particular and expects excellence!

Amanda May is my colorist and she is simply amazing. She originally corrected my hair from a reddish/brassy blonde and brought it back to more ash tones. I will not let anyone else touch my hair at this point. She truly is an expert at color and knows just what to do to get the result I want. I have been seeing her for about a year now and every experience is perfect. Cannot recommend her enough!

Amanda is amazing! Not only is she great with cut and color, she is super fun to talk to! She will always give you her honest opinion and tell you what can and can't be done with your hair, which I really appreciate. Her cuts are awesome because they hold their shape for a long time and she has helped me go from bleached blonde back to my natural color seamlessly. I highly recommend her!

Without a doubt OBSESSED with Amanda May. I have never had such a fantastic experience getting my hair done. Great personality and really knows what she is doing. I cannot imagine letting anyone else do my white/grey hair. It's perfect and my hair is extremely healthy since we did it over time. I constantly get compliments on it. Her balayage work is also something that I lust over, and is flawless. I'm so serious when I say you have to go see this wonderful woman for ANY hair need.

Koby gives me the most beautiful, well-crafted haircuts I've ever gotten, and in 5 years he has never given me the same haircut twice. I always leave feeling confident and sassy. The whole experience from start to finish is decadent without being pretentious. The staff is smart, friendly, and professional. I have never gotten so many compliments on my long layers as I do when I leave Alibi 25. And my cut always grows out perfectly. I'll never go anywhere else!!
