The experience was really good. The weekend thali was good.

The other a-la-carte food we ordered turned out to be average unfortunately (for the reviews it has on google) - The naan’s were cold and hard; the mango curry with paneer we ordered was very different that we didn’t like it much - it would have been good to have a little bit of that as an appetiser may be just to feel the unique flavour of it, but definitely not as an entree item.

No frills Indian restaurant with great food, good portions, and decent service and atmosphere. It's a good deal for the price.

Ordered chicken tikka (medium) and chicken saag (extra spicy). Food was okay, though not very spicy nor particularly tasty. Passable. The place looks very old and a bit sad inside. Menu seemed to have many vegetarian and vegan options, so perhaps meat dishes are not recommended.

Their rice is perfectly cooked. Kati rolls are beautifully seasoned and have a nice crunch. Channa masala is also well seasoned with the perfect amount of spice (I asked for medium). Service is quick and staff are friendly!

I’ve only ever had delivery so I cannot comment on the atmosphere. 2023 was my first time ever having Indian food and I’ve had it many times now. I love the grilled chicken tikka and the naan is great! Spicy and delicious!

It's such a perfect, delicious hidden gem. Very relaxed, homey atmosphere. Authenticly delicious food. Our (4) samosas were forgotten, so we'll see if they will just give them to us next time line they promised. Either way, I do love this place!

It was an amazing experience and our server TITA was awesome.
She was friendly and all the food was super tasty especially the dessert-Gulab jamun. It was out of this world. Must try the food and this place.

Incredible food and just as incredible service. We love the atmosphere here, both inside and out. The food is always made with such love and care, and our server, Tita, was so warm and kind throughout the whole experience. My partner and I love this place!

As an Indian myself, I was amazed with the authentic flavors and service! To find food so good away from home that indeed tastes like home is just satisfying. You guys have a lifetime customer in myself.
Apart from the parking problems, I can see why that is - a warning to people traveling with cars from far please park at the street opposite to the restaurant. It was pouring rain when we visited and was difficult to find parking.
The staff is extremely helpful and kind. I loved everything about this place from the food, ambience to the service and staff. Kid friendly, family friendly options. Vegetarian options. Overall a 💯!

Service was incredibly odd. The young man who took our order was weird to a point where we had wished someone else would handle us because of how uncomfortable things got. Not particularly attentive either. But...

That aside the food was fine, and incredibly decently priced. They even had specials including Baigan Bharta and it was great. They didn't have Naan available which was a bummer but overall I'd say this is a decent option for Indian food in the area.

I was naturally attracted to this restaurant seeing highly positive reviews. The restaurant matched up to my expectations, for the most part!
High quality of ingredients, good taste..though a bit far from being authentic Indian due to conservative use of spices I believe. I only tried the vegetarian menu items hence can’t say much about rest of the menu. The way they have designed the menu is very convenient for anyone ordering Indian food..kudos on that! Amazing drinks too!!
Good ambience with Indian music. Service felt a bit robotic and monotone. Good experience overall.

I can see why this place is so highly rated. This was my first time here and it was an Amazing experience !! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was so comforting. In addition, they have a good selection of Indian and draft beers too. The food and service provided at this restaurant exceeded my expectations.

I was walking Blackstone Boulevard and then decided to have a late lunch at India. Incredible. The food was delicious, the service excellent. They have a beautiful patio area, which i had seen before, and always wanted to stop in. I had the lunch special with the shrimp kabop l and a watermelon Margarita. 🍉 the food was fresh, and the Naan just spiced right. The shrimp, large and tender. The kale cucumber salad refreshing. The tamatar ka shorba was delicious ( I could have just a big bowl of that it was so creamy).

This was SO GOOD. I can see why it's rated so highly and I'm happy to add to that. From the start, we were seated quickly and the table had a placard promising to replace your food with a different equal-value dish if you had ANY issues with it after trying it. That's wonderful, but you probably won't need it because it was all delicious.

Vindaloo, biryani, mango banana split, two different seasonal drinks, and the "Indian nachos" -- I wanted to keep eating, but I was way too full! Thankfully now I have leftovers to enjoy! Boyfriend reported that his drink, the mango martini, was the best martini he had ever had. I hate martinis, but even I had to agree it was really tasty!

The seating was comfortable as was the light level. Plenty to see by, but dim enough to be cozy. The doors were open since it was a lovely summer evening, so I was really comfortable (though boyfriend was a little warmer than he'd usually choose to be).

I loved the atmosphere, from the music that was quiet enough to talk over but loud enough to listen if you wanted, to the art all around that was so vibrant and lovely. I found myself just gazing around at the paintings, the sculptures, even the lamps and the wall divider! Everything is very gorgeous, but in a natural way and not over the top or gaudy.

It's so good y'all. Give it a go. Service was great as was all the food and I'm already planning what I'll get next time because I will surely be back. 😍 Shoutout to Killian for great service, and all the other staff who we saw helping each other out during a busy night!

I had the pleasure of having my wedding reception at India. From the start, Ajay was super professional, kind, helpful and made us feel like we were family. His team is world class. Each and everyone of the staff was kind and courteous to all my guests. My family and I was really impressed how delicious the food was. Most places when they host an event and you opt for the buffet style. The quality in the food declines. But not here. It was as if my wife and I were eating there on one of our date nights. Throughout the process Ajay was great with communication and never seemed pushy. I was blown away on how great the service and how easy the event went. That was all due to Ajay and his team. I work in customer service and hospitality. I can assure you hospitality is India's mission. I am throwing all my events at India. I strongly recommend you do the same. My wife and I are very pleased we chose India to host one of our most important moments in our life. I'm really happy Ajay and the team realized how special that moment was for us. Thank you India for an amazing experience.

The food is nice no doubt. But beware during payment. They forcefully take tips from you (Even they don’t bother to ask). They should ask and ensure from people before taking any extra money.
However a good learning…

This was an absolutely amazing meal and overall experience. I had the lunch special, which was delicious and feels like having a multi-course meal in one. Chicken tikka masala is one of my favorite Indian dishes and theirs had a nice, very mildly slightly spicy kick to it. The salad was light and refreshing, the naan was warm and very fresh, and the kheer was a perfect last course. The ginger chai was great, and the flavor was neither overpoweringly gingery nor too sweet; they have a great selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The service was excellent, too—very warm and friendly, and I didn’t feel rushed, as I sometimes do when going out to eat alone. The restaurant itself is also immaculately decorated and has such a calming feel. I’d wanted to try India for a while, and it was highly recommended by a few of my friends, and I completely see why. Not only did my experience here surpass my expectations, it blew them away!
Great food, reasonably priced, great location!

Excellent restaurant! Wonderful food, pleasant atmosphere, incredible staff. They were so kind to me on my birthday and we will definitely be back. Madhav was SO wonderful with my one year old son which meant a lot as a first time mother. We love Kabob and Curry!

Just have one word for the food wow it’s so delicious 😋. Must try chicken tandoori . Omg I have been in MA for 6 years never had this favor in Quincy , every other restaurants made sizzlers but no one make the quality like this . It’s a magic of clay oven and flavor . Thank you team . You will see us very often 😀.
This place has the same curry flavor as the old time. I am really happy to be here with the same curry flavor I had back 5-8 years ago :)
Great samosas, great garlic naan, great mango lassi, and great papadams. Their chicken tikka masala is also excellent and the lunch portion is generous. Reason for the four star review is their chicken vindaloo. It really lacked the spice, tang, and the wow factor that I usually get from a great vindaloo. It’s my go to dish and this left me very disappointed. However, everything else was so good I’ll definitely be back and will try something else!
The best Indian we've had in Providence!

We travel often and rarely find such good flavor especially on the southern Indian dishes.

We ordered ahead and there was a mistake with the order, but they were able to rapidly fix it. I appreciate when a place isn't always perfect but is able to make it right. We'll be going back for sure. You'll be missing out if you don't try this place.
Great service and the food was yummy and very generous with the portion of food I would recommend this place.
Great apps and bread.

The cold Samosa Chaat appetizer was so good. ($8.95). The sauce was so tasty and their samosas were creamy under a bed of that sauce and chickpeas.

Their Vegetable Samosa app ($6.95) comes with two large, warm and creamy pieces. I also tried for the first time, Traditional Alu Parantha ($5.50). It's whole wheat bread filled with I believe Samosa filling and griddled with what tasted like ghee. Amazing!!

Much better portions then their lunch menu. Last time I got their Chicken Korma lunch special and the amount of chicken they gave was disappointing. I got 3 regular sized cubes of chicken.

My original review was 5 stars but I've since had to edit.

My family has been coming here for so many years, the entire staff knows us by name. They have some of the best prices on authentic Indian food in the state. The atmosphere is also very homey.

Recently, we noticed a sign in the window (see picture) that made us feel unwelcome and unsafe. We'll be going to other places in the area instead.

Last visit not good. Very different than what we expect from them. The service was slow and very inconsistent. I asked for my dish spicy and it came out with cinnamon sticks innit and tasted like sugar. They made it sweet. Not spicy. It was awful, but didnt have heart to tell them. Why would spicy come out super sweet. Unedible sweet. It was my wife and I 5 year wedding anniversary and it was bad. We love their food we wanted them for that meal. I should have showed them and let taste. It truly made em question going back beacuse that is a huge mistake. I said hot and spicy. Not Vindaloo spice but hot. And they made it sweet. Wow!! The gentleman taking care of us seemed like he did not know what doing. Maybe we go back. Unsure.
Amazing Indian place on Hope St that is 100% authentic. I'll let you know a secret!?!? We were on our way to Rassoi, which we often frequent, but stopped here instead and wow were we impressed! They also have a spice place across the street, where they are actually able to deliver authentic spices across to Just Snacks to make authentic, tasty and clean Indian meals. My wife and I had stuffed Aloo Tikki, lentil soup, garlic Naan, Chicken Vindaloo and Tikki Masala. All very good and some outstanding and a few best I have ever had in life. The Naan was the best Naan I have ever had and their Stuffed Aloo Tikki was the best I had ever eaten. My wife said her Tikki Masala was outstanding. My Vindaloo had all the right spices and just the right amount of Vindaloo heat. Some places want to kill with you heat, but forget the flavor of the dish and others vice versa. Not Just Snacks hits the flavor profile and heat perfectly! If I had to give something back it is the Lentil soup. It is not that it wasn't good. It was, but out of everything else it wasn't the best as everything else was. Wonderful meal. We can't wait to be back !! Thanks Not Just Snacks!
Lovely menu selections, convenient location. Noteworthy yummy sweets, and beautiful view of bridge and river nearby (i.e., India Point Park or Corliss Landing/Providence River Park)!
Average food, staff lacks interest. not allergy aware, told me they could not guarantee specific ingredient will not be in my food (lemon juice). when asked for a piece of onion, informed me it will cost $2.25 for "Indian salad". I have never ever been charged extra for a piece of onion in any Indian restaurant before this.

I've been waiting so long to check this place out. I am not disappointed either. First off, I love the name , 'Not Just Snacks.'
There is a lovely dining area inside and some tables outside as well. The hand painted murals are unique and wonderful conversation pieces of art.
NJS has a great menu list and I can't rave enough about the actual dishes. Presentation and taste.
The ladies are genuinely beautiful waitstaff with complete knowledge of everything on the menu and the shop as well.
NJS is now my favorite place for authentic

Indian restaurants are my favorite. This one was the worst I’ve been to in regards of the taste. The food has no spice, not even salt or pepper. Plus, it’s small portions and expensive. The place was nice, the waitress was nice, another employee too but unfortunately, I came here expecting to have, above all, good food.
The service was great and the food was amazing! My favorite Indian restaurant in he providence area! The paneer tikka masala has been my favorite since I last visited New Delhi, India and it tasted so authentic and rich here. Definitely the place to go if you’re looking for Indian!
