We ate dinner. Parking was easy. The atmosphere was good, particularly with Hindi songs running in the background.
Chicken mango was delicious.
Lamb saag gosht was ok. The spinach element was a little off.
The naan was like pizza roti. Very thick!
Used to love this place until it gave me the worst food poisoning of my life, was unfortunately hitting legs in gym a few hours after a meal here and was on the toilet with a bin to throw up in as well for almost an hour before i was okay enough to stand up. Usually it’s good but I wouldn’t ever go back after having food poisoning I wouldn’t even expect in a foreign country from a food stall

Great food and friendly staff. Excellent variety of dishes as well. This place has become one of our regular spots for Indian food in Coorparoo.
We ordered take away.
Food was delicious (we ordered chicken pizza's from their Mon-Fri menu)
Order was ready for pick up on time, food was still hot and the staff were very friendly.
We can't wait to return for dinner in the restaurant.
Don’t EVER ORDER FROM THIS PLACE, only if you want to end up in hospital, Naan bread from the local woolies taste better this place is beyond dirty I took a peek into the back and it was atrocious. Wouldn’t recommend waited 1.40mins to a curry which tasted like it was heated up. I HIGHLY WOULDNT RECOMMEND OVER MY DEAD BODY. Absolutely disgusting. Workers are scammers have trouble communicating and misleading information
Loved the curry and naan!! Butter chicken, Korma, Ceylon were all a good pick. Naan was especially fluffy! one of the best Naans ever. Staffs are also very nice.
I rang to order takeaway and wasn’t very certain about what to order. I was given all the right information about suitable dishes and spice levels by the very helpful owner on the phone call. The restaurant delivered to us, thankfully we were within range, making the whole experience easy. Our meals arrived hot, we were able to eat straight away without reheating .
The best Butter Chicken I have had in such a long time…the sauce was very tasty, the chicken pieces so yummy! My partner’s Hot Lamb Vindaloo was rated as excellent. His meat was deliciously tender and spice level was spot on! We were both too busy eating with delight to talk during dinner. We enjoyed our Raita very much, along with the Garlic Naan Bread, Peshwari Naan and Rice. Great night dining in!
We will be ordering again very soon.
Thank you to all.
The food here is so delicious. We've been about 10 times and it never fails to deliver. I get the butter chicken with naan and they do an amazing job. The atmosphere can be quiet and I'm not sure why it isn't more popular but the overall decor is ok. We go for the food though and always leave satisfied. It's our favourite Indian restaurant in Brisbane.
Highly recommended. Very unique flavours. If you like your curries slightly sweet like me, try Khoya kaju. Chef prepared an off menu item “Veg Pahadi” for us which has very unique authentic flavour. The portions were more than enough. Staff was very attentive. “Mong dal Halwa” was one of the best I had out side of India.
Today l went there with my friends we really enjoyed the place even before starting eat because of how the restaurant looks so nice clean the food was amazing we ordered Naan and malai kofta butter chicken …….. was so so delicious l didn’t expect that also the service was good and stuffs was friendly that was lovely for us .That’s what we needed in the restaurant
If your having problems to find a place to go eat you can go try that one . I hope you’ll enjoy it as we did
Tried this lovely Resteraunt tonight. I had the Dahl and Nan bread. It was so delicious. The lady serving was so lovely and even ordering the food over the phone was very pleasant. We’ve found out new favourite Indian restaurant.
We ordered food delivery, so can’t comment on the restaurant itself, but my goodness the meals were divine! Beautiful flavours, and the heat was well balanced with flavour. Happy customers with full bellies. Will absolutely be ordering again.

Delicious 😋
Between six of us, we had Korma, butter chicken, Tikka Masala, goat curry, Malai fish curry, rice and cheese, and garlic naan. Everything was simply amazing! Portions were big, we couldn't finish our meals, although we've tried very hard 😄
I’ve eaten at Shamianah several times and have had a consistently positive experience. The food is great; not a huge menu but every dish has its own distinctive flavour. The pea and mushroom curry is excellent, with big chewy chunks of mushroom. Also love their goat and lamb dishes. Really good naan and other breads. Low key, stylish decor. Helpful and friendly staff. And very reasonably priced - we paid $130 for three people, including beer. A great restaurant and not just for locals!
Ambience is great and the smells of herbs and spices coming from the kitchen were enough to get the tastebuds wanting dinner. The waitstaff were very attentive and pleasant. Has a wonderful experience with my Family. Love to go frequently.
We love Sitar. The aloo gobi is done very well with plenty of cauliflower & well spiced. My partner enjoys the lamb curry, which is about the only Indian restaurant that adds good quality vegetables to it in copious amounts. Samosas are also excellent, generous size & lots of filling
