This was a marvelous play. I truly enjoyed the storyline. I had never been here before. I like the fact that you could bring in your container and fill it with water. I look forward to coming back and making this a regular place.

If you're into things Detroit and authentic you'll love the gift shop. I was there for a play recently and I enjoyed myself immensely. I definitely am looking forward to attending another show there at the facility.

The reception area was nice, the hospitality very cordial, theater area was cozy. It was my first time there, I did not enjoy paying $15 for parking in a gravel lot, and walking through it with heels on(large rocks).

Wonderful showcase for the best local live plays. They value your patronage and make you feel welcomed. Always a joy to attend.

I went to the DETROIT PUBLIC THEATRE for the first time to see the play BLUES for an ALABAMA SKY and I REALLY ENJOYED myself the staff was very welcoming and the seating area was spacious . The cast was OUTSTANDING , ESPECIALLY IZAYA SPENCER !!!! I will definitely return for other productions in the future !!!

We saw Blues For An Albama Sky. A very nice piece that takes place in Harlem during the early 20th Century. Seating is very comfortable and the staff very accommodating. A great venue in Downtown Detroit.

Beautiful, contemporary theater building. Friendly staff and talented actors in the "Holiday Cabaret." I truly enjoyed the musical including the singing and instrumental portions. Great job, Detroit Public Theater!!

What a great little theater! Staff and performers are always polite and smiling. They have a variety of different types performances and styles. The Shakespear in Prison performances are great. They give the audience independent insight to the lives of prisoners and types of things they experience both good and bad. Sometimes you even hear about their after story and re-entry into society. If you have a parollee that you care about but can't understand why they are so different when they come home, say after... 10 or 15 years. It gives you insight to all the terrors and trauma and violence they see and potentially were victims of and most times that they never even told anyone about. If you do decide to attend be prepared to hear sad or violent stories not just good ones. But the stories of past prisoners and how they struggled to get to the successful life they have now are amazing!
