There are truly no bad seats, which is why all the seats are priced the same lol! I have never been disappointed by a show. All the actors bring their A game. This is a gem of that area and selfishly I hope they stay a near-secret

We had a way better time than expected. The cast was really talented and the audience was engaged. The show was actually very funny. The space was unique and perfect for the show. Everyone in the crowd seemed to loved it. I would happily recommend. Perfect to do with my parents

Great experience!! I will definitely be returning.

comedy of errors was FANTASTIC!! it was a well-modernized shakespeare adaptation and extremely humorous

I've frequented Azuka Theatre for several years now. Their shows are insightful, well-casted, and different from what is offered at other local theaters. In addition to this, their pay-what-you-decide model allows more people to check out shows and join in the beauty of what they have to offer.

I've been very pleasantly surprised by the productions of this company! Excellent casts and plays! Really nice staff as well!

The shows are hilarious and it's a fun night out for all! Coolest aspect is seeing your favorite characters brought to life, Friends, Golden Girls, etc. Excited to see what they come out with next!

Have loved this place for years. Wonderful selection of plays in a small intimate space with a diverse, local cast, Some seats under balcony on one side are cramped and uncomfortable but that's an avoidable inconvenience.

Great show, funny and entertaining....the "Snacks" they had for a 5 pm show in a coffee shop themed show was disappointing....

Thd Lantern Theater is a very welcoming, quality, accessible theater. I would enjoy any and all to visit this wonderful home of the arts!

Jolly nice fun! Interpretive recreations of well known literary characters with a well improved script. Actors were deep in their satirical characters and interact with the guests as they are a planned part of the show.

Took my family to see the Golden Girls Mystery by Red Rum Theatre and they had a blast. Parking was convenient to find. There was a garage connected to the building and another one a block and a half away near Market St. The cast was very funny and their impressions SPOT on. Rose and Blanche were so much fun to talk to. This wasn’t a dinner theatre so be prepared to plan your dinner, but the treats available at the bar made a great snack/dessert. The bar itself was well serviced and maintained and the security in the Curtis center made the experience feel secure while the Red Rum actors made us feel very welcomed.

Quaint small theater. Only negative was the air flow....was very stuffy and warm inside. Not sure if issues with the HVAC on the evening we were there as friends told us they had not experienced that before. Would definitely go back.

My husband and I and a group of friends saw Without A Cue's Philly Fringe show, Whose Crime Is It Anyway?, on opening night. It was hilarious. The improvisors and emcee were very entertaining and worked audience reactions into the show in fun ways. Our group was utterly charmed and left still laughing at the team's antics. The venue is a little awkward, but the performers worked around the pillars so skillfully that I never felt I was missing something important. The location is great, with easy parking and lots of pre- and post-show dinner options nearby. This would be a great place for a first date or a Girls' or Guys' Night Out.

If you’re looking for a fun night filled with laughter and just good people look no further than Red Rum Theater. This quaint theater offers an immersive experience. Just be ready as these actors will draw you into the show with their lively music and comedic action. Check them out you will love it

Red Rum Theater is a great place to go with friends for a fun and unique experience. The actors talk to you and interact with the audience throughout the show. The show itself is really funny and then you get to figure out “whodunnit” near the end. You can also purchase drinks and light snacks if you want.

Pay What You Decide after the performance. I've enjoyed everything that I've seen at Azuka.

Experienced the play The Royale on Thurs, Dec 1, 2022. I absolutely recommend this play! Finding this theater on a small side street was a little stressful for this 1st time patron who doesn't really go into CC much anymore but it was definitely worth it. Did have to walk up a few flights of steps but I need to move my body more so that was just fine. And again, so worth it!

I attended a performance of Reverie by James Ijames @ Azuka on Sunday. I throughly enjoyed the play and the actors delivered powerful performances.

Good shows

The best theater company in the Greater Philadelphia region. The Lantern is a Philadelphia gem. Artistic Director Charles McMahon is brilliant. The selection of plays season after season is stellar and thought-provoking. McMahon directs their yearly Shakespeare play, which is the best this side of the Atlantic.

What a great venue for emerging theatre!
I went here with a friend to see Bob: A Life in Five Acts and it was a great time!
As I walked in, the will-call was right in front of me and they had my tickets ready for me. Inside it's clean and the lobby is well lit. The space opens up nicely - allowing for the crowd to mosey around until show time. There's also a small bar set up with libations and snacks and a self coat check.
The show itself was great - funny, enlightening, and thought provoking - told through a coming-of-age narrative.
I felt there wasn't a bad seat in the whole house. The seating was stadium style so I was able to comfortably view the play without having to bob around the back of someone's head. The acoustics were great, and the performances were spot on!
The Azuka tends to provide support for smaller productions showcasing new and rising talent, and I'm glad I was able to have the chance to enjoy this show brimming with potential!
Would def recommend checking out this theatre and the show!

Great experience! Although is pay what you want, supporting the arts is always satisfying. Don't be cheap.
