I got there as the doors opened and waited in line for 3 hours to see Femtanyl. The line was moving at a snail's pace when it was moving at all. I missed all of the opening bands but luckily got in just in time to see her play. The stage area was small but had a large bar downstairs. Ultimately, I ended up standing in line longer than I spent at the concert. They had technical issues, the sound cut out like 10 times throughout the show. The staff was pretty nice though.

Went to see Femtanyl last night and had a terrible experience with this venue. Doors were supposed to open at 7:30; we arrived at about 7:20 and did not get inside until 10:20. We were stuck in line for 3 hours, missed the first artist entirely, and missed almost the entirety of the second--the second artist actually came back out after leaving the stage because they had to stall since people were still stuck in line. When I was in line, there was no effort from staff to inform us of why there were delays. After an hour and a half of waiting, I went to the front of the line to see what was going on, and though the staff member I spoke to was nice, they gave me no information; I had to talk to other people in line to figure out what the holdup was. I get it, issues can happen, but they should have at least had someone going through the line and letting people know what was going on. Instead, we were left in the dark and had to wait with no explanation. Apparently the issue was security doing completely unreasonable and invasive searches. By the time I got to the front of the line, however, the searches were pretty standard--bags, hats, etc. (not wallets like others have mentioned). Maybe they eased up after jamming up the line for 3 hours? Regardless, waiting for 3 hours and missing the majority of the show is insane and grounds for at least a partial refund. Further, though the inside of the venue was pretty decent, there were numerous issues with the audio setup; the music randomly stopped nearly a dozen times. I truly feel bad for the artists; they were amazing and did the best they could with the situation, but their show was severely impacted because of the venue. I would never come back here and would encourage anyone else to think twice before buying tickets to a show at Bossanova.

I've been a few times, but for the recent Femtanyl show not only did they hold 90% of the audience outside the building until nearly midnight, the very end of the show, the security were incredibly rude. On top of that, they messed up their AV and the music kept cutting out during the headliner's set.

Extremely disappointing, will not be going here again anytime soon. Definitely not without any kind of response from management or pledge to improve.
Horrible security experience, genuinely ruined our night. the individual searching bags was just doing their job and it was very clearly the policy of bossanova but there is positively no excuse to search through someone's wallet and each and every card inside of it. I understand safety but skimming my tiny wallet full of credit cards and nothing else is a great way to make your patrons feel awful about their choice of show. The actual venue was fine once we are inside but the searching experience made me feel so uncomfortable.
In general, everything was fine, if you do not take into account the fan, which wobbled a lot when it was working and it was scary that it would come off and fall on your head. I didn't taste anything in the bar, so maybe you should read other reviews if you are interested. It seemed to me that closer to the stage it was rather suffocating and the air was heavy. It would be much more comfortable if they had some air conditioning for such cases.
1st time here. I really enjoyed the open floor. Cool looking bar with views of the stage, for the drinkers. I come for the music, and appreciate access to the stage
What's not to like? Best view is going to be from the floor, id suggest getting your spot early, the view is limited pretty much everywhere else. The security, door staff and bartenders are absolute heroes, be kind, they will take good care of you. Saw the delta bombers total bucket list band, with reverend horton heat, another bucket list band. Dreamy.
Incredible place with great sound. One of the better sound stages in Portland that I've attended. Bathrooms are some of the more clean as well which is appreciated! Good bar staff. Excellent bands lighting and setup. 3rd or 4th show I've seen here now. And I will be back.
