If you wanna enjoy a balanced seasoning in food, this is the place. Food is delicious, the soups are outstanding, I love this place, Viki and Dani are the best, and also beautiful. Every time I come to Houston, I take my lunch there if my schedule allows it!!! Come and visit, you won’t regret…

Tldr: found a piece of metal in our food. Food tasted great. We ordered empanadas, and a bandeja paisa. However, we found a piece of metal in our food. We were Ok as fortunately my wife and kiddo didn't eat it. We told our server about it and she simply took it back to the kitchen and didn't even offer an apology or to bring us a new fried banana which had it. Brought the check for the full amount and didn't acknowledge the piece of metal.

Empanadas tasted frozen, the music was so LOUD it felt like we were at a club, the fresh fruit juice tasted like water, service was not great and when I told the server that the juice didn’t taste like anything they replied there’s nothing we can do, we can switch it out but you have to buy another juice… we ended up eating our food and leaving disappointed. We traveled 45 min just to try this place and let’s just say, we will not be going back or recommending it.
A must whenever I visit Houston, the small venue reminds me of Caicedona and Buga. There used to be small apartments that were made into make shift restaurants.. a piece of home in Houston. I had a Passion Fruit Juice with milk, and beef empanadas with Ají to tease the palate. The main course was a Oxtail Stew with plantain, yuca root, and potatoes (Sancocho de Cola) served with rice and salad. I will always come here to relive that taste of home. Topped off the experience with an apple soda, Manzana. Marines always delivers an experience.

P.S. If the wait staff want to play Lana Del Rey...let them.. it's as close as we get to modern day vallenatos.

One of the oldest Colombian food spots in Houston! Amazing Colombian fast food. Highly recommend to any foodie looking for Colombian street food.
Food was good and also the service.. less expensive than other Colombian restaurants in the area
We visited twice during our visit to Houston. In my recent visit to this Colombian restaurant, I experienced a mix of delightful and underwhelming moments. The carne a la criolla was a standout, boasting a delicious flavor, and the prompt service ensured our food arrived swiftly. However, the to-go empanadas, while small, fell short of being extraordinary. The desserts, unfortunately, were a letdown. On both occasions, the requested brazo de reina was unavailable, and the milhoja, when served, appeared aged and had a subpar taste (I couldn’t finish it). On a brighter note, the fresh guanabana fruit juice provided a refreshing and enjoyable element to the overall dining experience

The food is always great at El Paisa BBQ customer service 100%, I wish we had one closer to where I live
Empanadas were not good. They tasted old not fresh like they were from the day before or 2 days before and were refried again. I had to throw them out and it was a waste of money. They also didn’t include the salsa for the empanadas. The customer service needs to better as well.
Acceptable overall, the Ajiaco was really not ajiaco, flavor from pre-prepared mixes. Service excellent and atmosphere excellent !
You might try everything but Ajiaco

Nice costumer service. I received wrong order then they let me keep it and gave my own order too.
I was just passing by Houston, and I was able to find this wonderful restaurant that offers plenty of choices in their menú. I was able to try the Mondongo, but I did NOT disappoint. My father had the Ajiaco, and the same result 100% satisfied. I would definitely come back when i ever come back in town
Had a taste of the Bandeja Paisa at Marines Empanadas Delicias Colombianas in Houston. Overall, the plate was delicious, but the beans were a bit on the cold side. Service was okay, though I believe it could be enhanced with a friendlier waiter. Looking forward to seeing improvements!
Popped into Marine’s Empanadas Delicias for a taste of Colombia, and it was a solid experience. We started with their beef empanadas. Surprisingly large and satisfying, a good start to the meal.

The real heavyweight was the Bandeja Paisa: a hearty platter with a line-up that included some well-seasoned grilled beef, pork belly, and a collection of sides that made for a filling meal. The rice and beans, though, were a bit on the bland side – could've used a flavor boost. The Chuleta Empanizada, or breaded pork chop, was just okay – nothing to write home about but did the job.

The staff here deserves a shoutout for being quick and friendly, keeping everything running smoothly. While not every dish was a knockout, the service made up for it, leaving me with a decent 7/10 impression. Worth a visit if you’re in the mood for some Colombian eats.

What an amazing lunch! Authentic and homemade Colombian food.
Everything was great.
JESUS is the best waiter I’ve ever had. He was extremely friendly, welcoming and attentive.
The QUESILLO is so decadent!!!
Can’t wait to come back soon!
Finally got to stop by after years of driving by this place and it did not disappoint. The service is amazing and the ladies are so sweet with giving recommendations. The combo is an awesome way to try a little of everything. I really liked the beef and English empanadas. They had a nice crunchy outside and were super savory & delicious with plenty of filling. Also love that they have Yerba mate on tap. It’s my favorite tea and I don’t find it available often so it was a nice surprise. Definitely coming back when I’m in the mood for empanadas!
We really enjoyed the Picada, especially the empanadas, plantains and sausage, and the beef with tomato and avocado. The brown sugar lemonade was also delicious. We'll be back.

Pan de bono is amazing here. The service is great and very attentive. We were greeted with a warm welcome. I came here for brunch but they had a breakfast menu that they only served until 11 and it was 12. Of course, I wanted the plate from the breakfast menu but settled for something else. We ordered empanadas and pan de bono to start. My boyfriend had the bandeja paisa and the chicharrón was a bit over cooked and hard to bite into. I ordered the patacón con carne (very tasty) and arepas con queso with an egg on the side. One thing I don’t like is that they don’t offer complimentary water.
I have been wanting to visit this place and I finally was able to! Colombian food is my favorite and I was excited to try it out! Service was great! Our waiter took great care of us! The place is clean and spacious as well which is greatly appreciated. Looking at the menu I was disappointed that they didn't have an empanada plate on the menu. They only sell them individually. But the empanadas were still good and packed with flavor! For my main dish I got the bandeja paisa and it was delicious! The chicharon was super good and the rice and beans were amazing! The meat was okay to me. Overall I would come back and try more menu items since they do have a lot of options to choose from! On my way out I could not leave without getting dessert! I got a quesillo which is like flan and some others as well to try! Can't wait to be back!

The restaurant is nice and the service is good. We ordered soups and they were good, nice flavor. Every soup come with rice, salad and plantain. But we ordered empanadas: chicken and beef, and I could not ate them, they were greasy and the flavor was nasty. Too sad a Colombian restaurant can not make good empanadas. The juices are watery, they taste good but if you are paying $4.00 you expect more fruit.

I ordered 2 empanadas, to be honest it doesn't reach the ankles of the Super Rico restaurant at Alief Cloding.
Both empanadas were served with tones of oil and hard like to try to eat a rock..Lol
I do not recommend this place to eat empanadas, not healthy, bad for your organizem.

Horrible experience! Beware! They stole my money! I went with my family (a total of four people) to experience the food from my country of origin PR. The mofongo was pretty good but the sancocho was subpar and the rest of the food was ok. This wasn't the big problem. The big problem came when it was time to pay and they charged me a total of $116! When I saw the receipt, I noticed that they had taken a $31 tip. I asked why they took that much out for a tip and they said that they automatically add a 15% tip to a group of four or more and that it was written on the menu. When I looked at the menu, it was in very small print at the very bottom. I told them that I had no idea of they were going to take that much for a tip (30%), specially when the service wasn't all that good and that nobody would really notice that 15% tip disclaimer at the bottom of the menu. I asked for my money back and they said they couldn't reverse or cancel the transaction, so I said no problem, just give me my money back in cash and they said they couldn't do that either. I asked for the manager and they said the manager was unavailable. So that, my friends, is how I got my money stolen from this mediocre restaurant. They gave me no recourse and/or options. They should be ashamed of themselves for stealing money from people, that is not the way to do business.

The best Colombian Food in town In my opinion. Best prices too. I always drive across town just to go get their Big Plato Paisa. Nothing beats their Food. You get a lot of food for fair prices.
I came to Houston on a trip and was looking for a Colombian restaurant since it had been a long time since I had tasted the flavor of my land and I loved this place, the food was delicious, my friend and I ate bandeja paisa. and liver with onions. 100% recommended

The food was delicious and felt like home style cooking, they also did not skip out on food big plants.Good prices for the amount of food you get.The staff was very nice and respectful.I am definitely going back.
The food was just average at best and on the pricey side for the location and atmosphere. The chicken didn't have much flavor while the empanadas were decent. The food court/cafeteria setting just makes it hard to spend that much on food.
Amazing Colombian food restaurant. It not only has great service, but all the regions dishes and wide variety of choices ranging from entrés, main courses, drinks, desserts and even bakery! And food quality (in the many times I have been there) is the best.
A real gem as for Colombian gastronomy and 100% recommend it.
The service sucks. They take out the tip even do it’s was a bad service. They don’t allowed you not to leave a tip for the bad service and charge you extra for using a credit or debit card. What I order was one price and when went to pay was another price. Never again I would go eat there was the first and last. The food was exaggerated salty you could even eat the food.
Andes Cafe was delicious and certainly made me feel as though I was in South America. The prices are a little high and with plentiful other options, if you’re willing to pay, this is a great spot for some South American flavors!
First time visit to this location. We had a great experience. No issues. Service was prompt. Drinks served on time. Food come out quickly. Our waitress checked on us often. Location was clean. Restrooms were nice and tidy. Parking was a bit difficult since there are a lot of business there. We got a Bandeja Paisa and 3 empanadas. The bandeja was great. The empanadas were a bit different then the usually Colombian empanadas we are use to getting. Regardless all was well overall. We wood definitely visit again.

I went with my family hoping to try Ecuadorian food.

The customer service was okay, but the beef and potato empanadas were hot on the outside, the beef was cold on the inside.

The corn Patties w cheese (arepitas) are nothing like authentic arepas, super hard and hard to chew, the smashed green plantain (tostones) were very greasy.

We ordered roasted pork leg (hornado) but the pork did not have flavor. It was not what we expected 😓.

The only thing I liked was the stir fry- beef (lomo saltado) from Peru and the chicha morada. In addition, we had a reservation for 9pm but we didn't have time to eat in peace since they closed at 10 pm and at 9:45 pm they were already in a hurry saving everything and giving us the bill.

DO NOT COME 🚨🚨🚨The place is terrible, the arepas was disgusting it had way to much butter, it was burnt, tasted terrible, it was like eating wet bread the moment you picked it up it all just fell apart. I also order a pina drink which was terrible for the price, it was mostly just water it had very little pina. The customer service was terrible Aswell she never asked us for water, refill, how was our food, nothing. I do not recommend going here, Go to dukes instead, cheaper and better quality.

I loved the authentic Colombian food that was served. It was fresh and tasty 😋!!
This was a quick detour. Food was good. I would hope in the future they add some pictures to their menus as the foods are new to some people. Inside establishment is nice but it does have a smell .hopefully they fix.

If you want great service in a clean place this is the restaurant for you. The food is amazing in taste from the beef empanada with the salsa that is given with it. We also got arroz con camarones and the churrasco. Everything cooked to perfection and so was the flavor. The service was great and they really do keep this place clean. Can't wait to come back and try other menu items.

Food was good but nothing out of this world. I had not eaten Sancocho in decades and I was hoping it would bring back memories of the motherland. It was good but failed to transport me back. The place was cozy and somewhat stuffy. There contactless payment did not work not did the QR payment. Bring your 💳 or cash.
Staff was friendly but not professional.
It was my first experience with columbian food and I like it. However, the food was a little tasteless and I’m not sure it is the common Columbian taste or it is it is for this specific restaurant. The variety was so good and there were many options. We ordered Arroz con Pollo & Carne Mechada. I liked Carne mechada more. Also we ordered a coffee at the end and the coffee was also very nice. We noticed they also have a happy hour and it would make it very much worthy during those hours that maybe we try it later.
It was a different set of flavors that was very enjoyable!
Worst place to go. It say they close at 5pm and I drove 1 hour to get something to eat and it was 04:21pm and the lady inside saids they were already close and they never answer the phone. Don’t recommended this place.

Excellent customer service. The owner is absolutely amazing!!!
This is one amazing place to get some authentic Colombian food. The service is top-notch, attentive, and always making sure you're doing good with your meal. The Maracuya with milk is amazing. I love their pan de bono, and the arepas are delicious. They are served nice and hot. We ordered the Picada and the Bandeja Paisa. Honestly, it's a lot of food for one sitting, but the flavors and the ambiance make it feel really good and makes you want to come back for more.
Awesome food, we got some type of mix plate that came with a bunch of everything.

Def must come back.

also, their mango juice with milk is 🔥👌🏾

The gentleman taking my order slyly blew through the tipping screen as fast as he could, providing for himself a maximum tip% assuming I wasn't paying attention. This is not a full service establishment and does not warrant 20% or more tip without providing any service as of yet. Should amazing service be provided, I will consider a tip after my meal, but not on the outset for simply selecting buttons to place my order to the kitchen. Removing two stars due to deceitful service.

Beyond this my experience was very good. The food was delicious.

The food is pretty good. I was looking to experience PR food, and they did not let me down. We took home some alcapurrias to fry at home to share with the family. Delicious. The restaurant itself could use some updates.. it's a bit of a hole in the wall, but these are the best places to find that authentic food

Where do I start? From the moment I walked in, I should have known better. The place was empty except for employees and theirs children. There were three ladies working the counter and they all had a bad attitude. They didn't greet me and they were just like "what do want" basically. As if I was bothering them. People from the island are friendly and attentive. The opposite of what you get at this place. Finally ordered and they literally asked me "thats all you want?" As if I wasn't ordering enough to make it worth their time. Food took forever to come out it wasn't even worth the hassle. Food didn't looked good and didn't taste good at all. Flavororless, overcooked, and unappealing. I ended up throwing it away. I don't know how these people stay in business! Do not go there unless you want to be disappointed.

I recently moved to the neighborhood, and I was out exploring new places to eat, dine, lounge, hang out, and / or have a nice cappuccino (which I love), or a nice cocktail. I stopped to get sm groceries and hold and behold this little restaurant, bearly visible if you drive on Richmond Ave at a speed, was next door. Small dining area, super clean, bathroom is spotless clean with a baby changing station. Right away, I was offered a bowl of lentil soup (taste size) and was marvelous. The hostess is pleasant and friendly, and the prices are great. I ordered empanadas, 2 of each, delicious. The main dish was chicken milanesa with rice and salad and cm with homemade thin French fries. Service is great. In the kitchen, there are a couple of eldery women who are for SURE KNOW HOW TO COOK. Twice a week I stop by for sm empanadas to go. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

We absolutely LOVE it here. We are from New Orleans and every time we plan our trip to Houston, Las Delicias is ALWAYS in our plans. For a three night stay, we come to eat here 2-3x. We always bring home the pan de bono for our family who also loves it. Hands down, the best pan de bono & empanadas we have tried in Houston. 💙

The food is just the best! I ordered the mofongo with roast pork and maduros. Everything on my plate was perfection!! This is my third time eating here and I will definitely be back. This time I ate on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm and, although the restaurant was about 80% empty, the to go orders were obviously taking up most of the staffs' time and attention. While we got our order timely, getting the staffs' attention afterwards was impossible and I had to walk up to the counter to make our requests known. Same for the final check. I usually eat here on a Sunday afternoon, around 1pm, and it is packed full inside the restaurant. With only two staff, I excused the slow service. I believe the problem is, they need more staff. Their business is booming, their food is delicious and their prices are reasonable considering the excellent quality. I will come back regardless, but I still hope they are considering hiring at least one more person to work in the restaurant and/or to handle the to go orders. That should bring some relief to the customers and the existing staff.

La olla is perfect for a good O Colombian ox tail soup. I have visited Colombians restaurants in the past, like in New Jersey and New York, and their ox tail is always delicious. I was surprised. I found this Colombia rest here in Houston. Very impressive. I need to return back soon and try their famous rice with chicken. Is one of the best dishes they have. Nice waiters. Very friendly. I recommend this place.

I really like this place more for the service and atmosphere than the food. My party agreed that the food could have been more flavorful. We ordered the following...

1 La Bandeja Paisa - the beans could have been more flavorful. They were plain. La Carne asada was plain and tough.
2. El Trio- the chicharron was nice, crispy but soft.
3. Sopa de Mondongo - No complaints, it came with a lot of rice, so a plus imo
4. Arepa con todo - the Carne asada lacked flavor and was tough.
5. The empanadas were great! And the salsa, Aji, they come with was delicious too.

So as before, the service was great, just like the atmosphere, but the food brought the whole experience down.

Before the place is open, people is already queueing.
This is my first time at this place. I ordered pork belly and sweet plantain. It is gooooood. I probably should eat the pork belly with rice.
The service is great.
The food is so good and portions are the perfect size. The staff and owner are always very friendly and makes you feel so welcome. The prices are very reasonable absolutely no complaints there. This is my number 1 choice when eating out.
Most of the Colombian Restaurants in Houston have decent food and Marines is one of them. The food is fresh and well prepared. I ordered the Bandeja Paisa and it was amazing. I like the combination of the food on that entree and that is why I normally order the same. A friend of mine ordered the chicken and he also mentioned it was good.

Every Colombian place has its different flair.
This was really delicious.
The appetizer empanadas were good with a nice crispy exterior and gooey goodness inside.
The bacon on the entree- split by two people - was the highlight. Super impressed how they were able to cook the egg perfectly hard, yet the yolk was just the tiniest bit soft. That’s a master chef trick. Beans were very fresh—might need to sit a bit longer to let the flavors meld in. Rice was par.
Citrus drink - lulo - was really fun and refreshing.
The decor was really special. Someone has a special gift and beautifully decorating the space.
They really care and their love of Colombia shows through and though.

I am super stoked to have found this small yet flavorful place! I love Peruvian food, especially the ceviche. We ordered everything from the tequenos, empanadas, ceviche mixto, and the Lomo saltado. First off, the empanadas were full of beef and juicy. I have had empanadas at other placed where they skimp out on the beef and stuff more potatoe than anything-this was not the case. The Ceviche was finger licking good. Lastly, the Lomo was so soft and tender. Very impressed with the amount of flavor they packed onto each plate. I wish I would have gotten dessert but honestly, I was stuffed.. Guess now I have another reason to come back. Try them out! Also be patient, they were super busy but worth the wait.
Respectfully, keep in mind I am half PR & DR, I came to this location & ordered two meals to go, it was not busy at all & I was the only person there (even gave a tip when I made the payment before they gave me the food I order) but yet they gave me boiled stew chicken in a small coffee cup in one order which was not the chicken I ordered & they gave me half a cup of mondongo in another coffee foam cup all cups were the size of 4 fingers width & length . The tostones/Yuka/Yellow plantains were all mad soggy & Wet not fried nor crispy how it should be, The salad was a small baby portion with one slice of tomato with no flavor inside the small foam tray pocket as shown, The abichuela(beans) was mad water down but was ok , The rice was ok, and the home made juice was very water down and did not taste natural at all, Both meals coasted me about $41. As the typical friendly Carribean I would have let this go but I thought of all the Non-Carribean people who came to this restaurant and now think this is how real Carribean food tastes when it's not. Y'all suppose to represent y'all people please fix this. Also the floors were very sticky as I walked throughout the restaurant as if the moping was with dirty water because my shoe made noise every step I took, The restaurant can use some remodeling also.

This is where Colombians go to get authentic food for a reasonable price. In particular, the seafood soup is especially good. They have so much demand, they had to include it in their daily menu. The service is friendly and fast. Enjoy!!!
We were in town for the weekend from Austin and my Venezuelan husband was craving some arepas. We found this spot and had a great authentic meal! Great service as well.
We came to this place because they offer lechona on Saturdays, we called before to go and they said they have lechona, when we arrived the place was not busy, but the service was so slow. After 15 minutes sitting there, the waitress came to ask for our order and told us the Lechona was Sold out, we order something different. After another 15 minutes she came to ask what was our drinks order, she never put the order and we wasted our time waiting for nothing. The service is very bad. We just canceled our order and left. The waitress acted and looked as she did not want to work.

I have to admit when I pulled up I had my doubts, even when I walked in , BUT the food is sooo good. I had the garlic shrimp Mufongo, if you like garlic it is a must. My husband had the fried pork mufongo , it was great too but he should have ordered black beans with it to have " a sauce" this place is the real deal. . Alot of food for the price. We both had take home boxes.

“Simply Delicious”… True gourmet sea food… Mixtures of techniques and flavors, cultural aromas of preparation with products that take you on a journey to the depths of feeling and enjoying what you see and eat prepared in front of you, with the energy of the Chef transmitted with experience and culinary talent, fresh multicultural to your palate. Excellent price-quality ratio for this secret Ceviche Bar, inserted in the center of the Houston Downtown. Its strategic location within this bustling and saturated urban space, protects the harmony and the environment to taste without problems the modern marine environment of the place. The select wine very agreed to enjoy without invading or removing prominence when feeling the taste of the sea. Beautiful decorative cultural details accompany you enhancing your comfort, giving elegance to the restaurant.
The seriousness and professionalism to reserve allow real beginners to select and filter what they really want to enjoy. As a Gourmet from the country with the longest Pacific coasts in the world and great abundance or variety of seafood, I recommend this place 100%.

Empanadas were over fried and hard, 95% potatoes and 5% beef. Bandeja paisa had no taste except the sausage. Even the beans tasted straight out of the can. The arepa con todo was the same. No flavor. The server was very attentive but does not make up for the food. My Colombian wife agrees.

This is our second visit to Andy’s café. We made a reservation because we wanted to try the “ceviche bar.” The food tasted good, but the ambience and service were terrible. First, this is not a ceviche bar. Food bars are where you actually interact with or at least can see the food during its preparation. This is simply sitting uncomfortably at a hemmed in counter with the food apparently prepared in the kitchen and plated on the other side of the counter, which we couldn’t see. The Ecuadorian decorations were nice, but really the only thing of interest at our seats. Sitting in a row like that with a solid counter in front of you is uncomfortable for a party of three and there is simply no reason why this could not have been served at a table. So we were disappointed from the start. Then, the advice on food quantity that was provided while we were ordering was simply inaccurate. The appetizer was entrée size and should have been shared among the three of us. We were advised that it was small and individual. That led to wasted food since we each ordered a full appetizer and entree ceviches as required for ceviche bar reservations. The ceviche itself and the appetizer were quite tasty although I had one bite of something crunchy that tasted off. The food wait is long, which would’ve been fine in a better setting, but the server failed to provide our beer and wine for the lengthy wait for the appetizers. We finally reminded her and she brought the order, but had missed one of two glasses of wine. This was very clearly ordered so I’m not sure what the problem was. The wine pours are very small when compared to other restaurants. I am not sure it was even 4 ounces. The entrées were not serve together. Again we understand they were freshly prepared and had to be prepared one at a time, but it is awkward when you’re a party of three and your food comes out at vastly different times, particularly when you are sitting at a metal counter and all you can do is stare at the counter or stare at your food. We all found the ceviche excellent. Given the small space at the counter, it was unfortunate that the appetizer dishes which had been pushed to the side were never cleared. It’s unappetizing to have dirty plates sitting there and it took up space.
I should note that there were only one or two tables filled and a couple of walk up orders so the restaurant was not busy. One server should have been able to handle things better. Finally, we ordered the alfajores to take with us. This restaurant needs to find a better way to pack alfajores than an over-sized plastic box.
I went with three stars because we loved the Andes café of old in EaDo and are sad that our two visits to the new location have been less than stellar.

We gave it an excellent rating the first time we were there, even though the service was a little off. But this was our second visit, and we tried the ceviche bar, and it was very disappointing.

Newly opened Colombian restaurant on highway 6.
Easy access, easy packing. It was our first experience in this restaurant and we spent a real good time.
The place is well decorated. The food is great and the service is fantastic. The owner takes time to talk to you with a permanent smile.
The patacon and the fried plantains are delicious.
They are also proposing a white dressing home made that is amazing.
Definitely a place to discover.
We will came back soon.

I have no idea what they were trying to achieve, however the pork had perfect crunch on one side, overcooked in the middle and skin was undercooked on the end and the sausage was a link so no complaints on that..the beans were spoiled and smelled like sour milk., I told them to not put plantain on my plate but they did it any way..they tasted better than anything else on the plate..the steak no seasoning..everything had no seasoning of any kind..avocado still had the shell on..the egg I just didn't understand how to eat this plate..I think they should have put that pork in the beans...its a combo if sausage and eggs..beans and rice..pork and the cheapest cut of the steak..now that corn thing tasted like rubber. I give it 2 stars to be kind but it was not good..I will throw this plate away and order food somewhere else. I wanted soup but they didn't have the one I wanted.

For me, food isn't just about nourishing myself with energy, but it's also about the experience! I think the ceviche bar at Andes Cafe was an experience. Located at The Post in Houston, they have a nice, cozy restaurant open in the corner of the food court.

I ordered the Ceviche Mixto which had calamari, octopus, fish, sweet potato, and other delicious ingredients which gave it a nice, tangy blend of textures and flavors. Sitting at the bar, you can see the chefs going to work in front of you as they prepare the meal. They also give a complimentary, bite-sized sample which was a nice touch. My meal tasted fresh and exotic, comparable to some of the great ceviche meals I had in Miami.

On top of the that, the staff was friendly and receptive to my questions. The chef was very passionate and competent, given his history with cooking. Overall, definitely looking forward to coming back and trying some of their new foods that they are coming out with too.

This is the best place for Colombian seafood in Houston, bar none!! The coconut sauce is the best I have tried in Houston, and multiple cities in Colombia. Another gem, the empanadas are amazing, made with real pieces of meat, crunchy, and delicious!

If you are looking at an interesting and flavorful twist from your normal fast food experience, El Paisa BBQ is your place. It is a small take-out only Colombian food kitchen situated in a strip shopping center parking lot that is located on Richmond between Jeanetta and Tanglewilde.

The service is not fast as the food is cooked when the order is placed and takes between 15 and 20 minutes to prepare depending upon the amount of other customers placing orders.

There are several Colombian burger and hot dog variations served with fries. One member of our group tried the Paisa Perro, a hotdog variation from the Paisa region in NW Colombia. It was sweet and juicy and rated as the best hotdog this person had ever sampled. The Paisa Perro was reasonably priced at $3.

The rest of our group tried various meats (chicken, beef steak and pork) grilled Colombian style and served aboard a large and delicious arepa (a corn based, circular bread about 1/2 inch thick). The meats were well seasoned and were complimented by the moist and chewy arepa. These meat/arepa dishes go for between $5 and $7 depending on whether you order a regular or large size. Pork belly, chorizo dishes and blood sausage were also on the menu but there were not enough members in our group to sample the full menu.

For appetizers, we order the empanadas. That was the best decision of the night. Many places make very good empanadas and in my humble opinion, the El Paisa empanadas rate up there with the best. Each empanada is very reasonably priced at $1.

A variety of Jugos Naturales (natural juice) were available for a beverage with either a milk or water base. We tried the Blackberry and the Tamarindo constituted with water. The flavor was wonderful. At home, I added a few ounces of spiced rum to my Blackberry juice with very pleasing results.

I would rate the food as 5 stars, the service as 3 stars and the overall value and enjoyment as 4 stars.

Paisa BBQ is less of a restaurant and more of a fast food style stationary food truck for food to take to-go. You never go “inside”, it’s a small place and You order your food at a little window, wait sometime between 10-20 minutes and then they call your name to get your order and you’re on your way. The menu is straight forward and has a lot of options. We’ve been here many many times and I almost always order the Paisa burger. It’s so good and filling. It’s a great size and it’s so flavorful. My husbands favorite is the bandeja paisa, not only is it a great portion size but it’s also a great price. We’ve also tried many other things on the menu and have never been disappointed. It’s definitely a “hole in the wall” type place, not exactly fancy or nice. But the food is really good. I’d say one thing that could use a lot of work is the customer service. They aren’t really friendly or helpful, and can sometimes be dismissive, which are all bad qualities to have as a business.

My favorite Colombian eatery in Houston. Small and simple layout, but great food and customer service at unbeatable prices. Best Colombian Almojábanas and Colombian buñuelos in town. Avoid Saturday mornings or be prepare to wait. Lunch specials over the week are delicious and inexpensive. The front (outside) of the business could be better kept, but the inside is clean and well-kept.

I used to come when it first opened and it was greatx then w.time service hasn't been as great. Today food took a long time to get, they were out of empanadas. Food was still good, just feel that they need to do a little better like they used to.

A small place, especially good for meat lovers. I tried the typical Colombian Paisa Plate, which was a like a big sampler, including a thin-sliced beefsteak, big sausage, pork belly, red beans, rice, an egg, potato cake, fried banana and sweet potato...really enough for two to share, and topped it off with a nice blackberry smoothie. I would have rated it five-star, except that the dish should have included avocado and they were out, which wouldn't have been a big deal, but avocado was in season, so really no excuse. I asked for extra rice instead of the avocado, and was told I could substitute only fried banana or sweet potato, which I thought was not very accommodating. Anyway, just a small complaint, and the food was delicious, service good, and prices fair.

This location has the hands down best bandeja paisa in all of Houston. The service is friendly and they treat you like family. When my mother came in to town from out of state, this was the first spot I took her to try. Food is always 10/10!!

TODAY-10.24.2021-I had not been back since they reopened. DO NOT GO THEY SELL OLD FOOD. I WILL BE REPORTING THEM. SEE PICTURES. The blood sausage/morcilla is not in picture bc I had to spit it ouy immediatrly. I should have known when they told me 20 min. Only when before it used to take 30 to 40 to make a fresh picada. She saw me walk in with 2 of my babies who I was feeding and I cannot believe she let me leave with that food. Tasted like OLD GREASE and the meat empanadas looked questionable. ATREVIDOS!!!! Le deben dar PENA!

2 YEARS AGO-Yum! Yum! Yum! Everything is fresh. The chicharron was the best ever had. So perfecrly cooked you could eat the skin with it being chewy. It would crackle. The only thing I will saw is that my empanadas and patacones were drenched in grease but other than that...the meat was perfectly and freshly cooked. We will return! La Olla might as well close...still confused they have mexican food on their menu now.

The BEST Columbian food in Houston, been coming here for years and will keep coming till the day I die. Absolutely love the bandeja paisa y los empanadas ! And the fruit smoothies are always fresh
a very nice place to taste typical Colombian dishes, with good seasoning and adequate quantities
