I visited this place on September 2024 for a lunch. I ordered one salad with salmon and potatoes. The food quality was great. I also ordered a piece of lemon pie but it was not so great as the salad. Staff were friendly and the service quite fast. You can pay with your credit cards, including American Express. Prices are honest. I do recommend it.

Please note this place is located inside the Skansen park, so you can eat here if you have a valid ticket entrance for the park.

Wundervolle Galerie mit einer herausragenden Sammlung an Gemälden und Skulpturen und Sonderausstellungen. Besonders empfehlenswert ist auch das Café.
Friends of ours who live in Stockholm recommended we try Koloni during our first visit to this beautiful city and we are so glad that we went! The food was delicious, the service impeccable and the setting beautiful!
We ate at the cafe this summer on the hottest day we’ve seen in years. It was wonderful to have the mist over the tables to keep us cool and we really enjoyed our food and the service by young and pleasant staff. The cafe is charming and worth a visit. 👍🏾☀️🫶
Surprisingly better than you would imagine from the compact size it has. The food was quite tasty, although they could use having a few more options. The staff was warm and friendly, and the shaded sitting area is glorious on sunny, warm days. Well located close to the kids playground.
What a pleasant surprise in this touristy place! Very good food, a vegan option that's not just a salad leaf with a cucumber, honestly, bravo!

It was a gem. Starting from a light lunch in a museum caffe, and ending in the garden right out of at the rear of the propery. The artworks are impressive. Worthy of visiting.

This was a great excuse to get ferry 80 from central Stockholm to travel to the museum.

After getting off you can go left or right from the jetty. Going left means you enter via the garden with its lovely Vigeland sculptures, so if you went right, make sure you leave via the garden. No really, you don't want to miss them (but go to Vigeland Park in Oslo before you get too old, you will thank me).

Inside is a collection of paintings that is by turn interesting and dull - like most museums. We came for the Carl Larsson (but there is less than I hoped for) and to a lesser extent, the Munch (much less than you expect). But having said that, I still enjoyed the visit. The building is beautiful and calming, the displays and information are good, and the cafe - OMG that cafe was fantastic.

Near there is the 'Gravitational Ripple'. Go find it and have a thoughtful moment.

So IMHO, yes go and enjoy the water and the serenity and the art and the food. You won't be sorry.

A pearl of a museum.
Got there from the city on boat line 80 and enjoyed waalklinker there in the “countryside”
It is a small museum with an amazing art collection.m presented in an old home.
Certainly a top Stockholm site not worth missing.

We were greatly surprised by this museums.
Great exhibitions and many great works of Nordic painters.
The building itself deserves a visit.
It also has a vey cosy cafe with great food and treats.
Would definitely recommend!
I truly wish there were some good options in vegetarian besides just a load of salted feta and heavily salted sundried tomatoes over sour dough bread. Which made our experience very very salty. Somewhere the Google translation of the Swedish menu was misleading and the experience was not that great for our hungry stomachs. Hopefully the chef can make some interesting sandwiches that appeals to pallet than the trash.
On my recent visit to Stockholm I visited this nice place. Amazing food, friendly staff and a great location on a sunny, summery day. Definetly my favourite lunch place now ❤

The gallery is the home of Thiel who collected a lot of paintings and works of art at the start of XX century. It is very interesting if you want to know something about the artists of Sweden and the paintings are amazing but it a pity because there are no explanations I English, so it is difficult to understand something for a tourist. Luckily also the staff is very friendly and they can give you informations.
So nice place the caesarsallad with homebaked for dessert its a treat. Looking forward too next time!
I called in here mid day mid week, it's has big airy rooms, and smaller more intimate spaces with an eclectic collection of art work. I liked the balance of paintings and sculptures, the different room settings added something to the gallery too. The eating area, is spacious however the place where you pick up your food can get congested very easily if there are more than half a dozen people queuing. Food was nice, good portion sizes. The gardens have some interesting pieces in them too! Will definitely call again.
