We opted for dinner at this establishment, and the cuisine was truly excellent. Our order included chicken satay, pad Thai with extra spice, and another dish (whose name escapes me), all of which left a strong positive impression. If we were local to Amsterdam, I'd definitely become a regular. While the service was a bit slow today, our waitress was exceptionally friendly and made an effort to ensure our satisfaction.

I had a duck curry special and it was delicious. Very flavourful. I asked for extra spicy which was still not too spicy but added a nice kick. Would recommend. Most of the bad reviews are from a long time ago. Doesn’t deserve to be a 4.1 rated restaurant

Great food, gread personal and beautiful restaurant. The only thing i didn't like was that the beef meat in my pad thai was a little chewy. Apart from than unexpected gem.

Delicious. Good size portions. Cozy little neighborhood spot.
Really amazing food, and honestly the girl with the high ponytail is running everywhere and is super sweet! Really nice service, and vibes. Loved the place. Definitely coming back again someday
I had a great time here. The food is good, the service is great and the overall place is nice and we'll designed. I had the pork belly ramen and it was very tasty and filling. While not mind blowing I was still very satisfied. The dish was very large, and the food arrived quick. The staff were also very kind and helpful, and have a very detailed allergy guide for all of their dishes. The place itself is cool but the sitting is slightly awkward, while not uncomfortable I'd rather sit on soft padding or a couch. Cool vibe.
Friendly staff with good food. Everything was fine.
I always think that a restaurant is good when I walk in and the place is full, sometimes I'm proven wrong but not often. When I walk into this restaurant the place was full and I was not disappointed. The food was brilliant, the service was excellent. Probably the best meal I've had in Amsterdam. Well worth the visit.

😸 Katzenroboter- Kellner!!
Personal war super freundlich.
Essen sehr sehr lecker.
Dort essen zu gehen, war genau die richtige Entscheidung.
Aufgrund des Preises könnte ich dort nicht jede Woche essen gehen, aber es ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.

Sigh.

I ended up at this restaurant after the vegan place I'd planned to visit was closed for the evening due to "unexpected circumstances."

Since I love Thai food and was already familiar with what I'd order, I figured what could go wrong.

Yikes.

I greeted the woman who would be my server (in Thai) upon arrival. Once seated, I asked a question or two. She seemed extremely annoyed with simple questions like, 'is there fish sauce in the curry?', so I avoided small talk.

My food arrived lukewarm and overly sweet. The lukewarm part was confusing. I was one of only two tables, and listened to them prepare the dish just before sending it out.

I flagged my serve down for soy sauce and chili to balance things out. She never returned. As I ate my cloying dinner, other tables arrived, and her demeanor was markedly different.

Two Caucasian couples took up a couple of tables, and a biracial girl of African descent took another.

In similar fashion to me, the server barely acknowledged the young woman and fawned over the two couples. In the span of 10 minutes, I knew about the couple's dog, the server's children who were studying abroad, etc.

I don't like to make things racial, but there was a clear difference in her behavior with me (a black woman) and the other person of African descent.

Though I only spent a few days in the Netherlands, I heard similar sentiments from others.

I'd rather not spend money on subpar food and poor treatment. Maybe she just didn't like serving tables of singles, but I doubt it. You couldn't pay me to return.

Benchmark for Thai food in Amsterdam and unbeaten in regard of fried rice. The cooks are Thai, which makes a huge difference in comparison to "new" or delivery only restaurants in for example, Nieuw-West, that are not ran by Thai. The price-quality balance is very well. However, the beef curries can be a bit overcooked and chewy.
Nice view. Finally an Asian resturant that gets it! They gave unlimited rice. So cheap and such a simple gesture to the customer. The food was good I had the green curry. Only negative was we forgot to say we're splitting the check and the server just handed us a calculator instead of just getting each of our payments. Very lazy behavior on her part.

Tips you need to know before dining here
⭐️they change the menu every several months, so what you found in recommendation might be not on the menu
⭐️it’s an authentic Thai restaurant, which means the (most) dishes are Spicy 🌶. And believe me, you can get MORE spicy dishes in Thailand, so if you don’t like spicy or you can only eat a little bit spicy, thinking about it before you go

⭐️Starters
Personally I like fish cakes and moo satay the most. I’ve heard moo satay is their new dish for this season, the satay sauce is with rich peanut aroma and a bit spicy, I even think it’s very creamy.

⭐️Som tam green papaya salad
I’ve never thought a salad can contain so many rich flavors! You can taste sweetness, spicy, crunchy (peanuts and papaya), and sourness

⭐️main dishes
I just want to say these curry dishes are amazing. But little tips for how to choose less spicy dishes: green curry is the least spicy one, yellow curry is usually with the seafood and its creamy (I think). The red ones are the most spicy

It’s a little bit pricy but you can have a good experience as if you were in Thailand. The owners are very welcoming.
Myself, my Thai wife and my relations ate here this evening. With my wife being Thai and myself obviously eating Thai food for 20 odd years I think we are well placed to judge the food.
The food was excellent, they even made a dish for my wife that was not on the menu. The girl serving us was so friendly and helpful.
I honestly cannot recommend this place high enough. I wasn’t sure as it was empty on a Friday night and I’m happy to say I was very wrong. It’s the best Thai food I’ve had outside Thailand.
If you enjoy Thai food then go here

We found this restaurant via the Fork.
Overall, I would rate 3 stars ⭐️ = could be a good choice when you are in the neighborhood.

Food: 1 out of 2 stars ⭐️. The pad thai is a bit over sweet.
Service: 0.5 out of 1 star ⭐️. They are quite busy with take-away orders, it takes quite a while to have our food.
Price: 0.5 out of 1 star ⭐️. The price/quality ratio is acceptable, considering it’s in Amsterdam.
Location: 1 out of 1 star ⭐️. Very easy to find it. But It’s better to get there by public transportation. Not very easy to find a parking spot.
The food was good and some dishes very creative. Flavors and seasoning was oke, nothing special.

The restaurant looks great, blossom trees all over the establishment. But visiting the bathroom was a totally different world, clean but rundown.

Overall a good time nothing special.

ps. The service was great. Even some nice serving tricks that have.
For the last couple of years, I’ve been a regular customer here at this location.
The food and drinks have always been consistent in taste, quality and quantity.
It is always freshly made and delicious!

The crew here is amazing! Always very welcoming, friendly, genuine and customer facing.
Since the remodel, the overall vibe is modern, clean and welcoming.

The Chicken Katsu Curry is one of their classic dishes. And it is absolutely delicious!
One of my absolute favorites for sure.
Usually I always ask for extra salad dressing to add some sourness to the dish. Next to that I usually order a small or large tropical juice with ice cubes on the side. A nice refreshing drink to accompany the main course.

Would I recommend this Wagamama location?
You bet! Absolutely!
I grabbed takeout tonight after a walk around the lake and it was delicious! The waiter was friendly and helpful. The food came out pretty quickly and was wrapped up so well for the walk back to my hotel. The red curry had just the right amount of spice. The fried rice was tasty. I also got veggie spring rolls and they were small but tasty. Worth a stop!

Food used to be great and staff friendly.
Last experience was disappointing - you can’t pay with debit cards (pinnen) even when the sign is on the register.
They only want cash / contant even if I did not have any - only my phone and debit cards. It’s been more than 2 months that the payment device is out of order and this is not acceptable. Will not go back for that reason.
Get your payment device fixed!

Really lovely food and the service was fantastic. They didn't have a vegan menu so highlighted for me on the order slip what would be suitable. The robot waiter was cute too!
Amazing food - one of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. The service was very kind and attentive as well. 100% would come back
I'm a long standing fan of Waggas and it rarely let's you down. They have upgraded the seating arrangements from the old days, but the menu quality remains solid. The chicken katsu curry is still hard to beat!
This restaurant has a decent location looking onto a small square right next to Leidseplein.
Such a nice restaurant, we orden a soup and two main dishes and was a boom of flavor in my mouth 🔥🔥 and the service form the girl was just perfect. I’m gonna come back multiple times 🫶
Absolutely amazing!
It is a small place that doesn't look like much, but the food is incredible. Powerful and intense and bursting with flavor. Very affordable prices as well ♡

Yum Yum on Ceintuurbaan in Amsterdam is nice. The friendly Thai staff creates an inviting atmosphere, and the generous portions of their vegetable green chicken curry and red chicken curry will leave you satisfied. With authentic flavors and good prices, Yum Yum offers a nice culinary experience.

Highlights:
- Authentic Thai cuisine
- Friendly Thai personnel
- Generous portion sizes
- Reasonable prices
- Flavorsome green and red chicken curries

A good spot for a great Thai dining experience in Amsterdam.

The food tools 2 hours for delivery (20 mins delivery time was advertised), after calling to enquire about my food, I was told that it was "on the way" and then hung up on. This happened twice, they refused to pick up after this. The service here is very poor, definitely will not order from here again.

Super friendly lady attended us, the food is good, they also added extra ingredients which are out of menu for our request. This is example of great customer oriented service.
Would be great if they had Thai beer and also place itself a bit dated and crowded, but it’s not the major thing since we came for tasty food.

Ordered food to eat in, the waiter served it in a plastic container. When i asked why she didn’t put it in a plate, she said I wouldn’t be able to finish it. So she wanted to put it in a package already. So weird. I paid 18 euros for this.

Great food, very tasty not bland like other Thai restaurants in Europe, plus a great service from the Chef. 5 star Experience!!!
Wagamama is one of those franchises that’s had it’s fair share of up and downs since Alan Yau opened its first restaurant in 1992 in London.

I used to be a big fan of the chain, going every weekend for a meal and enjoying every minute of it.

It’s downfall started when it changed owners to couple of hedge funds that didn’t give a s**t about what they had bought. All of a sudden, the flavours, the taste and the portions all went downhill, resulting in me shunning the chain for over 10 years.

By pure luck, I decided to try Wagamama once again to my pleasant surprise. The flavours and portions are back, and it seems all pretty reasonable considering the increase in food supplies of late. You can even get free green tea, but don’t forget to add it to the order.

Ordering by QR code is pretty efficient although I do miss the human touch of a waiter taking your orders.

All in all, I’m happy that Wagamama seems to have rediscovered what it was all about and I will try and make it a weekly sojourn like the good old days. Kudos to the new owners, the Restaurant Group, for reviving this franchise to what it should be.
Excellent food with good service and cozy atmosphere
nice asian food place. the vegetarian dishes are delicious and has. very good looking The restaurant is very comfortable and has a nice terrace outside to eat outdoors. The only bad thing of my experience were the toilets. They were very dirty and dusty.
Family-owned restaurant (the kids and the house cat had both fun in the restaurant). Smiling service, tasty food, price ok.
I would definitely go back!
Nice place with outdoor seating in a quiet street. The food was good, portions were on the smaller side compared to other Thai places and the higher price.

So good we ordered twice in one sitting. Boss lady is funny, food is way too good for the price and in the middle of city centre. For locals & tourists this is the spot. Does not serve alcohol, the food will get you lovedrunk.
It seems to us that the green curry was too sweet. Thai rice noodle soup was too sour.
It's not what we expect...supposed we can enjoy the original dishes then all the lemon/fish sauce/ Vinegar were on the side and we add it according to our personal preferences, but it seems the chef has her own decision to overly add everything, sorry to say it's quite disappointing.
I ordered to go via an online Food service. The food was very disappointing. I ordered Chicken Massaman Curry, a dish comprised of chicken, potatoes, onions, and peanuts. It was way too watery, too sweet, and with hardly a peanut in sight. I will not reorder.
Delicious food! They prepare it for you at that moment, nice place, and very friendly attention. The only drawback is that you can only pay cash, for the rest totally recommended.

It was a very cozy and nice place to eat at. The food was super good and the workers very kind. It didn't take so long from when we ordered to when we got our food!
I highly recommend this place!
Great discovery in the Jordaan neighbourhood. The sate sauce is just beyond amazing. I could come back to just eat that! Also the pad Thai was incredibly tasty. They have a little terrace outside which makes you can enjoy the livelihood of the Jordaan area. The service is super friendly. Will definitely come back!

The rice is uncooked, we waited very long for the food. We ordered extra 2 plates of white rice without knowing the dishes including rice. So when we feedback to staff the rice uncooked, she insisted the rice is cooked. Alright, we are cool.

The food is normal as a Thai restaurant and It's pricey.. Don't give high expectations if you are looking for nice Thai food. Read others review before decide.

The food was sooo salty, it was inedible. Especially the seitan vegan curry. We even ordered an extra brown rice for €3.50 and it barely helped. Brisket ramen was sooo salty too. Pricey for what you get. Food looks good, but Portions are not that big. The only redeeming food was the mushroom and eggplant baos. Worst dining experience. Come on restaurant, you can do better…..

We very much liked the food. I ordered #40 and it had a fitting mix of chicken and vegetables. Before ordering the lady warned me that the food will be spicy and asked me how spicy I want it, which was very attentive. Overall we had a good experience.

Honest review of a Thai restaurant

The starters (fish cakes and spring rolls ) were quite tasty and freshly made.
Mains were not bad, a bit too sweet for my taste.
Service was correct

Food: 5/5 ⭐️
- Tom ka Koeng: 5+/5 ⭐️
- Kaeng Phed Kai: 5/5 ⭐️
- Kai Satay: 4/5 ⭐️
- Koeng Thod: 3/5 ⭐️

Price: 4/5 ⭐️
Service: 5/5 ⭐️

Upon entering the spacious and serene restaurant, one is immediately struck by the peaceful ambiance that sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. The immaculate cleanliness of the restroom is worth noting, reflecting the establishment's attention to detail.

The service staff, particularly the kindful lady who attended to us, was outstanding. Her genuine enthusiasm in assisting us was palpable, elevating our experience even further.

As for the cuisine, the Koeng Thod was rather unremarkable - neither particularly good nor bad. Although it retained a shrimpy essence, the dish was slightly dry and the shrimps were disappointingly small. On the other hand, the Kai Satay proved to be a delectable treat that left a positive impression.

However, it was the Kaeng Phed Kai that truly stole the show. Each bite was a testament to the dish's exceptional flavor profile, creating a longing for more even after the meal's conclusion. And just when it seemed the culinary journey had reached its peak, the Tom Ka Koeng swooped in to claim the spotlight. As someone who typically dislikes coconut, I was astounded by how the Thai chefs transformed it into a key ingredient in one of the most extraordinary soups I have ever tasted.

This restaurant offers a delightful dining experience that will leave you eagerly anticipating your next visit. The combination of exceptional service and exquisite cuisine make it a must-try destination for any food enthusiast.

The food was really good. The service was great, our server was honestly amazing, she gave us good recommendations and was really accommodating when it comes to allergies and other questions! Though it is on the pricier side but that can be expected in Amsterdam. All in all would recommend :)

Updating my previous review (still at the bottom of this one though)

Since the bad experience I had a few months ago, I have returned to this place 2 more times and the experience was now very good.
The dish I had was very tasty (chicken red curry), the waitress was very friendly and helpful, no negative remarks anymore. I will certainly return

Waited 15 min at the table given by the waiter without anyone showing up giving the menu or asking what I wanted to eat. Instead staff was chatting with each other, never seen such lack of interest for customers….

Best Thai in town and fortunately (almost) neighbours. When you you've eaten somewhere over a hundred times without a single meal being off, you can say a place is consistently GOOD. Also, fair prices that are not raised frequently/sharply. Highly recommended.

In course of a business trip we were nearby and we found this lovely thai restaurant. Building is a bit older but inside it's lovely atmosphere and you will be welcomed by a nice and even funny waiter who explained very competent what we can expect. Food was lovely and tasty, we ordered the street food menu which includes starters several main dishes and dessert. Price wise 50EUR per person - it felt like a fair deal with several surprises and different spices. You won't leave the restaurant hungry and it has been a great dinner. Bottom line great hospitality, great authentic, great people.
The ambiance is wonderful, the young lady serving is very helpful and attentive.
The kitchen staff are Thai so you know it can't go wrong.
I ordered a khoa pad with chicken and shrimp and it was lovely .
Had a Thai Singha beer along with the food.

All in all a great experience at this location
It is located in Osdorp and enough seating was available.
I have had a lot of Pad Thai in Europe and this is probably the best by far. Unlike the westernised Pad Thai you have everywhere with bland, disappointing flavour palette, the one here tastes so authentic that I wonder if foreigners would be able to appreciate it. On top of that, the Thoeng Thong (fried dumplings) is amazingly good here. The filling is generous and very well seasoned. Great place!

The amuse bouche was a nice refreshing start. We had the fishcakes and satay as starters. Sadly the fishcakes weren’t to our taste (just a personal preference). The satay was very good tho! We also had shrimp green curry and beef stew curry, which they both were so delicious! They were very rich and flavorful. At last we had the mango sticky rice, which is now one of my new favorite desserts! It’s a must try! The service could have been more attentive, as we had to keep trying to get the waiters attention.

Excellent Thai Food place in Osdorp located at the Slotermeer.

Unique and good service, especially for Amsterdam. Experienced and fast waitress makes sure you don’t need to wave and wait for 30 minutes before you get noticed.

Food wise I have to say they have all the traditional Thai dishes. Very, very tasteful and quite big portions.

You don’t need to ask for doggy bags, if you can’t Finnish it they will pack it for you.

There is a huge parking across the street. The first 1.5 hours you can park you car for free there, a jfyi

Lastly i have to say it’s very clean restaurant with a nice atmosphere, good music track and again excellent service and waitresses.

Price wise fair. Definitely not cheap but for Amsterdam attractive price.

I can highly recommend this good place!

Authentic and cozy small casual restaurant. Quirky service, delicious food, and reasonable prices. This is not a fancy place but a place to find food full of flavor. Led by Thai women, it has that family-owned atmosphere hard to beat. They do take away and delivery. There’s no way to book a table, only walk-ins.

Vom Geschmack her mega lecker und hochwertig.

Das Personal spricht auch englisch.

Gerne wieder 👍

I had the shrimp tom yam, veg popiah, and papaya salad with fresh mint tea. The tom yam and popiah were on point - delicious! I asked for spicy and they delivered. The papaya salad was a bit of a let down though since they put some sort of long beans in it, which I think made it taste more of the long beans rather than the papaya- not the original papaya salad that I am used too. But I’d still go back for the tom yam and probably try everything else.
Great, small restaurant in the centre of Amsterdam. Not touristic, bit obviously very popular with super kind staff and with reasonable prices. The menu has a wide range of selections with authentic thai courses. Highly recommended place!

The lady working the front was very busy, efficient and on top of things despite the number of customers dining inside and coming and going for takeaway orders. All the food was very good- pad Thai, curries with garlic and black (1 with fish and another with prawns). 2 areas for improvement: A) both curries were very sweet and B) the portion of rice accompanying the curries was very small relative to the size of the curry.

Is there a way to give zero stars? Order delivery. Charged my card no problem but the order never arrived. Delivery estimated at 7:25pm. Called for status at 8pm they said delivery left 5 minutes ago. 9pm call again, they have no idea where delivery is at. 10 pm no idea where delivery is at. We've already been out to eat and back. Very unfortunate performance.

I had a really bad experience with them. First of all, the food was not as promised. I was expecting good curry sauce with rice but it came just like that. Plus I felt a bit racist there, they gave a big table to 2 local people but gave a small table to us, 3 people which was kind of racist. Couldn't give lower so only one star.

Very friendly and cozy place. We had some dumplings and a tasty soup for starters. The black pepper beef was one of the best dishes I've had ❤️. Thank you.
Very good Thai food! It's a small place but the staff is very friendly and the food is really good. Home made spiring rolls are delicious and the 3 star spicy food is really on point. I also recommend the fried ice cream, it's like a coconut cake filled with ice cream. I definitely would eat here again if I feel Thai food.

Popped in with friends, friendly staff, a good pint (British) and wonderful food, the Pad Thai reminded me of Kaosan Road Bangkok, I was just missing the drunken backpackers.

Great food, good prices and good portions. The waiter also charged my phone, nice guy!

What a great Thai restaurant!
I have been in the restaurant to eat really good Thai food. The service is very friendly and proactive. The food is very yummie and I can recommend the menu.

I wish the owner, master cook all the best for the future. For the once who have not been there: you should go.

Thank you for having me as a guest.
I will come back.

This is the best Japanese place i know in Amsterdam, i have been here many times and have never been dissapointed. Very friendly staff with great service and amazing food. I hate fish, but here i can easily eat it because its that good. It is kinda pricey tho. Lots of paid (till 7pm) parking places around the restaurant too!

Amazing dining experience. This is my husband's favorite restaurant. Seems like all servers cover all tables because we had at the minimum 4 servers come to our table for different things. Amazing teamwork and environment. Perfect Panna Cotta and beef rolls.

The food is amazing. I come here to eat sometimes. Only the restaurant would need some renovation I would say but as food is excellent!
