We got the four course meal for 2 people with dim sum, shrimp soup, four main dishes and dessert. Everything was delicious and impeccable. Service was great and paced out perfectly. Perfect dinner for our stay in Amsterdam before our cruise

Great authentic Thai restaurant in a quite popular location. I was surprised by the quality and presentation of the food and the great service!
Easily the best food we ate in Amsterdam. Really nice family run restaurant with fantastic food. I think they tone down the spice for the Dutch locals, but just ask for dry chili or chili paste and they’ll bring you their grandma’s original recipe

Great little hole in the wall Thai restaurant. Gets pretty crowded later in the evening. Plan on going earlier to avoid the crowds. Very good food.
The location is very good, food was reasonable and prices are decent. Tried to book online but did not get a confirmation, turned out it was not too busy on a Thursday evening. Outdoor tables are nice. Service was friendly, a mix up with the order but it got sorted. Food taste was good and portions were decent.

I had an incredible dining experience at this restaurant. The ambiance was inviting and cozy, perfect for a memorable evening. The menu offered a wide variety of delicious dishes that catered to different tastes. From the appetizers to the desserts, each course was a delightful surprise of flavors and presentation.

Nice outdoor dining area. Very friendly staff. Their Tom yum soup is very nice, sour and spicy. Red curry chicken goes very well with rice. And the spicy level is just on point. Stir fried duck is too salty for me. Had to take a lot of white rice together.
Amazing Thai food. Our pad Thai was fantastic and served with half a lime. Vegetable spring rolls were great and so was the Tom Yum. Five star! And a bonus if you sit outside facing the busy street of Chinatown.
I'm still searching for the best Pad Thai of Amsterdam, and so far, Maenaam has provided the best one. However, my search continues.

When I went to Thailand, I discovered the delicious flavor of authentic Pad Thai. I've visited several Thai restaurants in the Amsterdam area, and all of them have either been too bland or too sweet. You need the perfect mix of sweet and salty (and spicy) to have a good Pad Thai.

I almost gave up on my search for the best Pad Thai of Amsterdam until one day I googled "authentic Thai food Amsterdam," and this place came up.

The food is the closest of what I have tasted so far in Amsterdam, but I'm still not satisfied. They did not serve dry chili with the Pad Thai as is custom in Thailand, and the flavor wasn't completely what I was looking for. However, if I still can not find what I am looking for, I can at least come here for a decent Pad Thai that is not too sweet, nor too bland.

The best Thai food I’ve had outside of Thailand. The papaya salad is the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The panang curry with chicken has fresh lychee included to help balance out the spice. Wow. Definitely get the sticky rice. We ate here twice on our visit (one of those nights was my birthday). Can’t wait to visit again on our return to Amsterdam.

The service was quite authentic, some dishes came with small metal bowls that sit on candles that keep them warm.

The atmosphere is nice, the lighting and decorations give good vibes.

The taste is very good, I highly recommend it.
tasty dishes but very spicy. it is very profitable to take a menu that includes soup, a side dish and a main course. They did not warn that a bottle of water costs 7€, which is a lot for water.
Great little thai eatery, picked up the fried rice with pork which was really good. We also saw many with curries and steamed rice which looked amazing. Portions were really generous for the rice and noodle dishes

The food was super oily. Had a sauce , too much sauce, that made everything taste the same. Not fresh. And it had hair in it of the person that serves it up. All with all, never again. Tasted old and reheated. Not fresh woked flavour at all for the price of almost 50 euros!!! I had 2 beef noodles with extra beef paid for. And yet, little beef .

A very quiet nook in the middle of the most craziest places in Amsterdam. I had a very nice vegan meal: coconut coup with tofu and spring rolls.
This place is great! I do recommend it, the food feels authentic and is full of so much flavour. The tom yam chicken soup is great and warming, the chicken satay is the best I have EVER had. Then I got the spicy minced beef salad, came warm with fresh flavours and rice. I really do recommend this place, although it's slightly inconvenient they don't take MasterCard. The service is hectic, but it does add to the charm. I wouldn't recommend going here with more than 1 other friend!

In Regulierstraat, walking distance from cozy canals and Rembrandtplein, this Thai restaurant is worth trying. Quite dark with soft lighting, a good atmosphere for romantic dinners. The menu has many options, we chose a mixed starter (the version with shrimp), then a spicy chicken main with white rice, and a beef one with fried rice. Portions are huge, so one could be enough for sharing (we had so much leftover that we asked to take away).
The food was excellent, we enjoyed a few Thai beers with it, and the final bill was 97€ (50€ each). 👍

This Thai restaurant is located in the heart center of the city next to Rembrandt. The place is super big, a bit dark inside and kind of not reflecting the Asian culture, but still nicely decorated.

Service was super well and they always come to help you and ask if you need anything.

Their menu is huge so it would be intimidating to pick from the options without knowing what they are. Portions are super big and very good value for money.

The tastes vary between fair, good and super. With the usual Thai cuisine dishes.
Checked this place out because of the reviews and it did not disappoint. Food is very traditional and very tasty. Great portions. We had a chicken stir fry, massaman beef curry and some satay sticks. All delicious. Glad we took the time to come here.

This little gem deserves nothing but a 5. The hype, the line and all the great reviews make sense soon as you taste this food. Some of the best Thai I have ever tasted. Very basic and small area to eat in, even some elect to eat on the bench outside. Tourists, make sure you have cash and make sure you order the mix red curry! Amazing.

Good place to have pad thai for a reasonable price. It's basically a fast food place, very efficient with the orders. The portion is pretty big. The pad thai has quite a sweet flavour here and I prefer it saltier.

After going for a lovely walk around Amsterdam my daughters wanted to try some Thai food and we were close by so we went to see if there was a table free. It's a lovely quaint place, it's was lovely to experience the hospitality and the traditional Thai food. It's practically made in front of you because of the size of the restaurant. The service was brilliant and my daughters and myself loved every part of the experience and food. I would definitely recommend experiencing this lovely restaurant if you're in Amsterdam

Insects were flying everywhere at outdoor seating in July. Even though we didn't make a reservation , we asked if they could let us sit inside when a table is availed. The waiter with curly hair just rejected upfront, and rudely put down our second order of water with a loud thud as if it had done a bad deed on him. The other table with a caucasien table, this same waiter was politely providing them with takeout boxes and etc. When it came to us ordering dessert, he refused to let us have a second serving. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE NOT LOCAL DUTCH AS THEY DON'T RESPECT INTERNATIONAL TOURISTS OF COLOR.

AVOID this restaurant. Rude staff and the worst Thai food I’ve eaten. Female manager needs serious retraining on customer service. I run my own successful restaurant in the UK and was shocked with the attitude of this manager, almost yelling when speaking, this is no way to behave or talk with paying customers. Starters and prawn stir fry dish was good and rest of the food was extremely poor. The chicken fried rice and egg fried rice was horrible and tasted off. We ate what we could and left the rest. Asked for the dessert menu and the female manager raised her hand to look at her watch in front of us as if to imply we haven’t got time for desserts and replied we don’t have dessert menu only have ice cream. Seemed like they wanted to get rid of us. This was by far the worst service I have ever received in a restaurant.
Wauw ! If you want to eat good and affordable Thai food this is the spot!! It’s a small restaurant with about 10 table inside and 4 outside.
Reservations is highly recommended
I loved their food. We tried their Paneng Kai (red curry chicken) and Kou Pad Ki Maul (spicy fried rice), both were very good! This place can become crowded but their food and service are good.

-Tom yum soup with shrimp was average
-chicken satay was good
-Stit chicken with thai basil, garlic and chili was veeeery good 👍🏻 highly recommend.
-The service was good. The line goes very fast, we waited for less than 10 minutes.

Heard great things about this place, but I was a bit disappointed, I think maybe I ordered the wrong food though, I had the Bangkok set menu and it was meh… and it was quite expensive €22.50 for this. It tasted average and portions on the smaller side. However I saw people who ordered pad Thai/ Thai fried rice came with a big portion, maybe I’ll try that next time. The waitress is very friendly, service is 10/10.

Sadly we lost our appetite due to one of the very rude staff. Talking to and treating customers with respect is very important and should be made a priority not only because we are paying for the service but also because we are human. We were very disappointed and genuinely hope this will be taken into consideration, we paid for our food but the behaviour towards our group was disheartening.

The food was good. However, A restaurant's success is not only determined by the quality of its food but also by the demeanor and professionalism of its staff. Sadly, in this case there was a big fail regarding both aspects. The rude and mean-spirited staff overshadowed any potential redeeming qualities of the establishment.

I strongly advise potential diners to think twice before visiting phutakun restaurant. The unpleasant and disrespectful treatment I received from the staff was not only disheartening but also unacceptable. As customers, we deserve to be treated with respect and courtesy. Regrettably, this restaurant failed to meet even the most basic standards of customer service. For instance, we were faced with statements such as, 'we are not a canteen so either order or leave' when some friends of us simply stopped to say hi and thus entered the restaurant which was also almost empty meaning they were not on the way but just simply having a small talk. This was the rudest staff that i have came across to.

My experience at Phutakun was nothing short of a nightmare not only it left me without an appetite but also significantly created a tense and an uncomfortable atmosphere . I sincerely hope that the management takes these concerns seriously and makes the necessary changes to prevent others from enduring such a distressing encounter.

The service was fantastic and the food delicious! Authentic Thai in a cozy space. Don't be shy to ask if you want it spicy, the chef can adjust to your preference. If you're not a local you might want to bring cash - the credit card machine is a little hit or miss. The portions were generous!

Great food, interesting experience, giving you have to order food at the machines. Fast and friendly service. It’s located in heart of Amsterdam, Red light District. Very affordable prices. Highly recommended to visit, if you want to eat good food for reasonable price.
The food was really good! The portions were also good! I only found out when I paid and left the restaurant and afterwards checked the receipt they charged me 2 coca cola which I didn't order! I don't know if that was to compensate the 30% discount on the food.
If I could give it a Cero star I would have. Should have know from the appetizers that this is the worst Thai food ever. The fishcake tasted Like something frozen that has been reheated. Absolutly not authentic Thai food. Tom Ka Gai also worse ever. How can you serve that kind of Rice? Soggy and watery? Green curry chicken...seriously? Come on!! Nothing special and actually waste of my time and Money! I left disgusted and not wanting to eat Thai food for a while.....Sad! And the service was Bad. We were ignored and when we finally got the attention by standing up to leave, we indicated not being able to eat the cold and bad tasting food and instead of being understanding or come with any kind of solution the server got upset with the feedback. Never Again!!

For the price, the amount of food I got was good. It tasted quite good, although there were a lot of bean sprouts in the dish. I would personally have liked a little bit more noodles instead of the large amount of the bean sprouts.

Service was fast, although not personal at all.

Super authentic Thai food , I used to live in Thailand and this is really really spot on with the flavours. I've been here three times now on various trips to Amsterdam, my only gripe is the way they try get you out the restaurant within a few minutes of finishing a meal. The first time actually was whilst waiting for dessert !
One of The best thai restaurant in Amsterdam city centre (Rembrandtplein). Thai foods with authentic taste and super friendly service.
Authentic Thai restaurant that offers a wide range of options, including vegetarian and vegan choices. We ordered the classic Pad Thai and Vegetarian Curry. Both dishes were well seasoned and tasted very good. In terms of pricing, the restaurant offered reasonable rates for the quality and portion sizes.

The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and the staff members were also very friendly and attentive. Not to mention the great location in the city centre!

It is the smallest of places, with a big waiting line if you go during rush ours! The appetisers were incredible! Both the shrimps and the skewers! The main dishes were also really good! I got the vegetable chicken noodles(no.26) and they were so tasty! My friend got the Pad Thai with chicken(no.27) and unfortunately it had an overpowering taste of ketchup. We dont know if it should or not, just stating what was tasted! DEFINITELY recommended!

Bird Thais Restaurant

Goodmorning!
Here is my review about Bird Thai Restaurant.
The line in front of the spot is really long so that means something special. They only do walk-ins. Since the line looks like it would take ages to get inside, it only took 10-15min to get inside.
While we were inside they gave us a wonderful spot in the center.

Food:
We have ordered a Tom Kha Kai soup, a Thai green curry with meat, seafood and the last one was the fried dorade with spicy mango salad. Especially the tom kha kai and the fish were wonderful.
The green curry was pretty nice when served hot, but when it is starting to cool down then the MSG is coming up to the front. Which is a taste, but I didn’t liked the amount.

Service:
The service was alright! Lots of waiters walking through eachother but they’re always standing there when you need them. Some small mistakes like a Coca-Cola zero instead of regular and some lemon missing. But alright, the bottle was blue and it has been a while since I’ve seeing that!
The last thing for me was the rice. We had a really small bowl of rice with the curry. It is literally enough for 1 person and eventhough we are both compact builded but still.. it is not so much.
So we asked if there was missing a rice then it came. But it was €3 that we saw later on the receipt. I think that can be better but perhaps it is their way of serving. Informing us would be better!

Atmosphere:
It is a nice cosy restaurant and always fully packed! The toilets are not that clean but it is crowed so I think there is no time to clean it.
The doors to explain if it’s a male or female toilet is quite stunning!
It is a nice place to eat.

Conclusion:
The interior is making your comfortable eating here, the staff is hardworking, the service is precarious and the price can be high.
So if we look at price-quality then it could be better, but since it is tourist orientated I think it might be a concept.

The food was really good. For someone who has a taste for sour and spicy food, you should try tom yum soup. And we also ordered pad krapao, which went well with rice. This was my second time trying this restaurant, and the food was just as delicious as the first time! The service was a lot better, too. Great Thai food, excellent flavours, all dishes worth a try! And the beautiful flower garnish that comes with each main dish is a nice touch!
The food was very tasty and the service was great. The drinks were really nice.

First thing is this restaurant is overrated, I visited there for lunch by checking the reviews but I don’t really like it much, we ordered Thai curry which is not at all good in taste specifically tofu used was not good in taste also feels like not fresh.
Menu is also overpriced which is second thing.
However noodles were good but the same tofu used in those noodles ruined the taste.
My wife really puked after we came out from restaurant, maybe something wrong with that dish and tofu.

Probably the best Thai restaurant in Amsterdam. Real Thai food, only one chef and an employeer / co-owner, but really great service and quality food! A must go!
Excellent food and full of flavour. Best Thai we have had in Amsterdam. Central location. Always busy.

Staff were excellent and served a big table really well. Super busy on a Saturday so make sure you book a table.
Tasty Thai food, nice staff which was open minded to make changes for us in the dishes.

Located in a central location so it easy to come by.

Their fried rice was nice but their noodle was a bit disappointing.

However, I was feeling uncomfortable while eating because I could feel the staff was looking at me standing right behind me, literally most of seconds while I was there. Maybe if they are sitting, it would be a lot better, in my opinion

Good food at the right price. There is always gonna be a line outside but the wait ain’t too long. The chicken skewer is a must-have, €6 for 4 big freshly made skewers. The fried rice is nice, and the spicy fish sauce only makes it better. The chicken in oyster sauce is decent, but the sauce is a bit too salty for me. The portions are huge too so recommend sharing with a friend

A quaint spot nestled amongst the busy De Wallen area of Amsterdam. Well worth a stop to enjoy authentic Thai Cuisine served fresh and plentiful. Excellent staff ensure prompt and efficient service.
Jan-2023: Cozy Thai restaurant in a great location. Had Tom yum soup - which while the soup wasn't substantial, tasted good, spicy, and had copious amounts of fresh chicken, and mushrooms. Equally good was the fish kraprao. While I thought the fish would be stir fried, it was three large pieces of fried fish on top of a spicy medley of long beans and basil. Very good. Panang chicken was also on point, once again with quite a bit of chicken, slightly leaning towards sweeter side. Had a few shots of Sangsom, a light cognac like spirit from Thailand.

Reasonably price in a tourist area, food is authentic, nice service, only complaint is the slant staircase toward the toilet facility.

Honestly phenomenal. Probably some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had (and I’ve been to Thai land 😆). Ordered the curry chicken. The flavor was perfect, not too overpowering but just enough oomph. And the chicken was Soooooo tender! Just fell apart on my plate 🤤 went with my whole flight crew and not one person had something negative to say about their plate. I don’t always take the time to write reviews but this place was worth it! And also very affordable! Ordered a alcoholic drink and entree for under $30.

This small place packs a huge punch! If you can get a table they have a huge selection of dishes from beef, chicken, seafood and pork with authentic Thai flavours.

I got the Paraa Prik (fish) and it was delicious! The portion size was big and all the main dishes come with rice also. I could hardly finish the meal, but they have boxes to take home if you want. My friend got the Paneng kai (chicken) a coconut based dish, which was just as flavourful.

The dishes at this place are so tasty and I highly recommend, if you can’t get a seat then order for takeaway, you won’t be disappointed!
You can order using a touch screen if you are going to pay by card, or order at the counter. The snacks were tasty and served pretty fast. The fish cakes were rather spicy though. The snacks were served with sweat chilli source.
Best thai restaurant in Amsterdams! The food was great (especially if you want the real thai taste just like what you have in Thailand) and the owner was really friendly. Very recommended!

Very nice staff and cozy restaurant and it is clean and fresh and there is a toilet, indoor and outdoor seating. Good menu and the food was very good and a lot of food on the plate. It would have been 5 stars if the price of the food and drink had been a little cheaper, unfortunately a little overpriced, but as I said, you get a lot of food on your plate.
After reading about this place we decided to try it. It was very good for, we ordered vegetarian spring rolls, pad gra pao chicken, Thai style and Tom yum goong. It was all very tasty. Little bit on the pricy side, but they were friendly, it tasted awesome, and they had a clean toilet to use if needed. They do have a few seating outside on the curb too.
Yummy thai food. Came to know about this place from a friend and had read great reviews about this restaurant on Google. True to all the reviews and recommendations it is actually a great place for thai food lovers. Nice, cozy yet very busy restaurant right in the heart of Amsterdam red light district.
Had ordered Red Thai Chicken Curry with Fried rice(you could also choose to have steam rice for no extra cost or noodle/fried rice with an extra cost, these come included with the curry). Portion sizes are great for 2 people and sharing is possible.
I went there for a late lunch or you could say an early dinner at around 4pm and it was almost full. So I would recommend going early to find a place or you could end up standing in a queue.

Small cozy restaurant with beautiful decorations.
Very delicious and authentic food, every bite packed with flavour!
The Pad Thai, Paenang curry and sticky rice were exceptional. I look forward to try more from the card soon.
Service was very friendly and helpful, especially with picking the right amount of spice.
Just make sure to bring enough time, as there is only one cook and waiter.

The food is amazing! Very tasty 😋 It's already the second time I went there. Also it has very interesting selections that you can hardly find in a Thai restaurant in Europe. The price is a bit on the pricey side but not too pricey and it's worth it for its wide variety of dishes. The staff are mostly if not all Thai and they are very welcoming and nice and happy! It felt a bit understaffed though because we had to wait for quite some time every time we needed help. So be prepared that it's going to be a rather long dinner. The sitting arrangement can be improved because now it's mixing big tables and small tables which make it kinda difficult to talk and hear each other for smaller groups.
Have been to this place multiple times and every single time the experience has been good. They don't have too many tables so it gets filled really fast.

For appetizers do try their veg spring rolls, you won't miss the meat at all.
We felt like we found a secret hole-in-the-wall gem when we walked by this place. We walked in and it smelled incredible and looked so authentic. The food was delicious and we got to see that the chef made each meal individually. However, if you're looking for speed and efficiency, this may not be the place for you. There is one chef and one waiter, so things moved pretty slowly. We were content just talking to one another, but be prepared to wait a while for your food.

Nice food nice staff good prices.

I was invited by friends and usually I don't go for restaurants that in my opinion appeal to the tourists. But this one pleasantly surprised me. The food is tasty and for this price at such a location you'd expect a lot less. But it's good. And the staff was very kind and professional. I can recommend if you're hungry for Thai and in the area.
