Mean and uncaring staff, my child hated going here. Save yourself and don't send your child here.
We switched to Parkdale Child Care after an opening became available and both our child and us parents are happier. The staff are loving with the kids and there are extra eyes in the room with the George Brown students. The centre is open/welcoming of parents, they regularly update pictures of the kids and family on the walls and there is a great variety of engaging toys. Our little one adjusted quickly and is happy to attend. They have been working with us with issues that arise and that’s reassuring to us.
No one should take this early childhood program in George brown College. They have almost 8 weeks of placements, that too with every semester. This was my second centre for free placement.and the staff treat you like servants .They don't know even how to be polite with trainees ,rather they harass a lot .I used to cry a lot .No one listens as the coordinator or liason or any xyz they are too biased .They are biased with international students.i used to clean tables ,dirty linen of kids , washing dishes , changing diapers and what not . No one feel mercy on you at all.Ofcourse from India ,we didn't come to clean this all and if we are cleaning ,we should be paid too.almost 32 week placement ,all free .Guys ,do think twice before taking Early childhood program as it's not an easy one and lot of harassment and exploitation here .The problem is no one raises the voice ,so I thought of putting a review here .Hope it helps !!
My child absolutely loves it at this daycare, he adjusted well & fast. All of the staff are extremely kind, professional and attentive. Not only am I beyond grateful that my child got a spot here, but knowing he is in the hands of trusted, compassionate and exceptional staff is such a piece of mind. The daycare recently re-located to a brand new facility across the street and it is stunning, spacious & bright. If your able to secure a spot at this daycare consider yourself very lucky! :)
What a blessing to have called AAP Somerset our child's daytime school/home for the past almost 4 years. An incredible community of supervisors, teachers and parents. They truly care about your children and the children absolutely love them. It's so bittersweet to watch our little ones grow up before our very eyes and move on as incredible little humans- in large part to the care and love they receive from the staff at AAP. My daughter has bloomed and I couldn't be more proud of her and thankful to the school for playing such an important role in some of her most formative years. We feel so lucky to have called AAP home and anyone else would be so lucky to do so in the future. Thank you. For everything.
Our daughter was at QSCC for almost 2 years. The staff are patient, compassionate, supportive and just all around wonderful! We are so grateful for their care.
AAP is a wonderful daycare run by caring, kind and professional staff. My two children attended for 6 plus years and both kids left very well prepared for their next steps. It’s relatively small, and family run, located on a residential street in a larger converted detached home. One challenge can be parking so if you plan to drive every day it’s something to keep in mind.
Excellent daycare. Great programming, caring staff. My daughter absolutely loves it and has been going for the last 2.5 years.
As a parent and early childhood professional I cannot say enough about the standard of care and quality here.
Being a lab school they do everything according to best practice. The educators are wonderful. They are passionate, knowledgeable and feel like an extension of your family. My children still have fond memories of attending childcare here.
Another benefit of being a lab school is the adult to child ratios. Count yourself lucky if you can secure a space for your children here.
A wonderful, long standing, community preschool that helped our covid child blossom :)
My daughter has been at AAP for 6 months and we are so thankful to be a part of the community. We are at the Kingston Road location and the teachers are absolutely amazing. They truly care for the children, communicate well, and support their growth. The facility is always clean, the outside space is cute and cared for and the food is delicious. They are very supportive of food allergies, and the transition into the center and between classes is very well thought out and supported. Overall a wonderful daycare center. I would highly recommend!
My youngest daughter attends, and I wish I had known about this school much earlier! The programming is wonderful, she is learning about interesting themes each week and has picked up so much knowledge from the songs, stories, crafts and activities. The cooperative is really well run, though there obviously is contribution from each family requires. Would recommend to anyone!
We have attended APTP for three years total, 1 year with my son and my daughter for 2. We couldn’t say enough great things about the staff, other parents, the program and the space itself. Both our children couldn’t get to school fast enough on their designated days and were disappointed when it wasn’t their day to attend. The staff are wonderful with the children, which you can see reflected in how happy all the children are to attend everyday. From a parent perspective, it was wonderful to have a group of parents to commune with at school events and upon drop off or pick up. It really is a wonderful community that your whole family will benefit from! Our daughter will attend JK in September and we are sad our time at APTP will be over. We can’t recommend the school enough.
A gem of a nursery school on the west end of Toronto. Warm and rich learning environment, and the educators lead with kindness and excellence. We appreciate that our child gets outdoor play time in an enclosed yard with lots of room to run around. We recommend this school without hesitation to any family looking for part-time childcare options.
We are so happy with A Place to Play, my daughter is so happy to attend this pre-school. The staff is amazing! I'm very happy that my daughter loves to go and she is always looks forward to going to pre-school. I would highly recommend this school.
A decade later and I'm Still traumatized by the supervising staff (Ashley and Kelley)
I was completing my internship as a gbc student and got negative reinforcement, lack of trust, discouragement, the condescension was absolutely deplorable.
I feel sorry for any student that has to enter this place.
My daughter has attended for 2 years and I couldn’t recommend the school more. Happy to know she is going to be ready to attend JK next year
I'm so grateful that I found Aspiring Academics! My kiddo was there from 10-11 months till just before JK. Absolutely wonderful staff. Jasmine is a caring and dedicated director. The programming and activities are well thought out, and and it's in a quiet residential neighborhood with easy access transit and bike lanes. Highly recommend!
Jasmine and her team at Aspiring Academics have been crucial parts of my son's development. He started at the west end location in the baby room and only just recently left the preschool room at the original east end location. She and her staff have been super responsive, kind and accommodating even throughout the difficult pandemic. I was comforted to know that all staff are vaccinated and they take their COVID safety precautions seriously. I would not hesitate to recommending any of the Aspiring Academic locations to family and friends.
Our experience with AAP and interactions with all the staff there have been positive. My daughter attended AAP (Somerset location) starting when she was 12 months old. When she first started, she had a difficult time adjusting but the supervisor was so kind and kept me updated with pictures and info to keep my mind at ease. When she moved up to the toddler room at 18 months, her teachers tried to make the transition as smooth as possible. Again, she had a rough time adjusting, but the staff remained patient and positive. They were always willing to spend the time to give us daily updates (both written and verbal). The supervisor was also very responsive to emails and made sure our concerns/questions were always heard. Unfortunately, we relocated out of Toronto when our daughter was ~2.5 years old. We wish we could've brought AAP with us. AAP is a safe, happy, and inclusive daycare for children, and we are so happy our daughter was part of the AAP family. We miss all of the staff and friends at AAP very much!
Aspiring Academics is an excellent preschool. The director is thorough and engaging, the staff are caring, the children are well cared for, and all protocols are followed carefully. My child was happy there from the age of 11 months old until she went off to JK, and we talk often about how much we miss it!
AAP was the first daycare my daughter went to. She started there at 11 months and as a first time mom, it was hard to part with her as I went back to work. AAP made the transition fairly easy and they took such good care of my daughter and all of the kids. They are nurturing, patient, and really take the time to get to know your child. What I loved was that they did some incredible arts and crafts together and captured special/candid moments at school and shared with the parents. The home is super welcoming - one of the first things I noticed when touring the school. I knew that my daughter would be in good hands. I highly recommend AAP - it's a professional daycare and their staff are truly amazing. My daughter really thrived there!
Manager is a rude person. Staff members are ok. Only two star because of only staff.
I had two children go through Queen Street Child Care for a totally of 5 years. I don't know what our family would have done without them. The staff is incredible, professional, passionate, knowledgeable and caring. The outdoor space is an oasis in this busy city. Can't say enough good things about this place and the people who work there.
I have never met such a bad childcare, lots of sick people around here, that's no good for children and easy to let staff and children get sick. Teachers are always bully intern students to do lots of things. Toys also very old.
Both of my children attended this preschool, we participated (over the course of 3 years) in both morning programs, and the afternoon program - the teachers are wonderful and we highly recommend the school. The classroom is a great room with a lot to entertain and encourage our kids to learn. The outdoor space and access to the gym are great too! For me the afternoon ("JK prep") program was wonderful for our daughter and really helped with her progression to full-day school.
