Showed up in extreme pain. Was having tonic spasms (total body) every 5 minutes. They looked at the MRIs of my thoracic and brain from previous hospitals. Based on those, they told me I had a functional disorder and should see a psychiatrist. I thought UM would help me. The next dr I saw out of Providence looked at my symptoms and knew within minutes the problem was in my cervical spine. I had 3 lesions. Was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis. I am wondering why UM would not investigate my whole central nervous system. How exactly would a psychiatrist help me with Transverse Myelitis? I would stay away from UM for neurological issues. A disappointing waste of time. BTW, I hold 2 UM degrees.
