Ludwig Museum Koblenz

As an Aggie you just can't miss this museum! The open air plaza is wonderful during the summer and the winter months. Regardless of the cold or the rain no Aggie worth their salt would miss getting their own photograph with this Gig 'Em bronze statue :-)

I'm certain someone out there has a different story about that statue but as everyone with maroon blood knows, Aggie roots run deep and I'm certain my provenance is the correct one!
Technik Museum Speyer

We really had an awesome time at this museum. If you're coming in on the Rhine River you don't really need a guide at all just a map. The place is less than a quarter mile from the port and easily found using Google maps.

I had to wait in line behind a bunch of 6-year-olds in order to get my photo and video inside the fire truck but it was well worth the wait :-)

We were there for a couple of hours and still did not get to see everything. This place has got a lot of things that are very interesting and the details are listed in English as well as German.

Self-guided tour is less than $10 per person!!
Old Market

Our guide was extremely open-minded, culturally conscious, and willing to answer all questions regarding the history of his country. He was friendly and funny!

We spent most of the morning walking around on a tour with him while he gave us the highlights. Since our ship will be at Port until 10:30 this evening we will definitely take him up on some of his advice about other things he did not stop at on the tour to visit later.

Well we have traveled all of the way here from Texas, we have friends in the area and we hope to meet up with them later this evening!
This is our first time to this part of Europe and we were very pleased that 75 years ago the Queen decided to maintain the cultural heritage of the area and find the government funds to maintain and not tear down the old windmills.

More interesting was the fact that families of up to 15 would live inside each of the mills! Fun fact: when going at full speed the sales of the mill are going at about 90 mi an hour.

Worth the stop and the people were fabulous. Make certain that you bring a credit card as no cash is accepted.
The Bulldog Palace

Okay, clearly if you are headed into one of the bulldog locations you are looking for one thing and one thing only. The thing that Amsterdam is famous for :-)

As a non-toker, I was pleased to find that they also have the absolute best hot chocolate I have ever had worldwide!

I was able to sit at a table outside during the cool weather of November and enjoy it while meeting new friends from other countries.

If you sit inside please remember what this cafe was founded on. There's no point in complaining about being mauled by an alligator if you jump into a swamp in Louisiana. Likewise, there's no point in complaining about the haze of marijuana that will permeate your brain for days when you walk into a Bulldogs.

I truly enjoyed all of the historical items and stories that were sprinkled throughout the venue.
