Quaint little place, tucked away in an unsuspecting corner. Nice wholesome food, wonderful people. Tons of military memorabilia and paintings and photographs from veterans and service members.
Food was great. I got the Banana walnut pancakes. Good, but you can never have too much bananas. Nice ratio of pancake to maple syrup. Eggs and bacon were just right!

Very interesting. Like the "street" decor mixed in with traditional aesthetics.
Service was good, and quick. Didn't wait too long to get our food. Their selling point is that their large bowl of ramen is only $1 more. I was sold!!! But what ends up happening is it throws the meat:noodle ratio off. Both large and regular bowls come with three slices of pork. Just more noodles. Nice entry price point, but you'll need to spend extra money on pork to make it better. Otherwise though, the Tonkatsu Ramen's broth was good, and the noodles weren't too soft, had some nice bounce to their texture. Also, their large bowls are round, while their small bowls have a flatter conical shape --no easy!
Their Chicken Karaage was nice. Juicy, not over dry inside, but also very crunchy skin. Not bad!
Best of all, you can top things off with dessert from the Baskin Robbins next door.

Really liked the cold noodles with that sesame sauce, but I had to be a gentleman and let the lady at our table have the last bite. 😭
Their "cat ears" were really interesting --no, they're really just tiny 'gnocchi', but they someone could've come up with a better name.

I haven't been here in a while. They've remodeled decades ago, and removed the push-cart dim sum --*childhood memories crushed*. Their service was lackluster for a while there. So I was EXTREMELY hesitant to come here this past weekend. Regardless of what I thought though, these guys have always remained famous enough, that their tiny parking lot has always had issues with people trying to fight for parking spots, and navigating through each other to get in and out, because everyone else just loves to come here. I don't have pictures this time, but I'll admit, service has improved again. You can easily tell which items were bought from a central location, and which ones were done in-house. Admittedly, their 燒賣 (ShiuMai) must be done in-house, but they were kinda' all over the place. They beat out 黃金閣(Golden House) for fugly-looking 燒賣. While Golden House's was more wrinkly, here, they looked like they suffered from multiple sclerosis. Rightly so, we took the 燒賣 out of their miseries, by only getting a single order of 4, then cut them for 5 people to share. The waiter sort of looked at us funny, but cut them as we asked --albeit extremely unevenly, just as uneven as their 燒賣 had been to begin with. Otherwise though, the taste was better than the last time I was here, and it was actually fresh, compared to their dinner items I had a couple years back. So I hope management has finally hired the right people and treat them well enough to keep things improving.
I love this place! Manager+staff are always wonderful to my crew! Always recommending the best stuff. Some people have moved on from here, but it's still my favorite!
Ugh... As I write this, I'm having trouble breathing, because I ate so much. My stomach is bursting. But I do love the food here.
