This is NOT a jazz club. Think of it as just a lounge where on a night you might have a jazz musician playing or you might have a band playing pop or soul music (we got Stevie Wonder covers). If you want quality music look up who is playing but don’t come on any night, because you will be disappointed. This place is not at the caliber of the true jazz clubs in the city so you will have to do your own work to confirm that you’ll have a positive jazz musical experience. Because if you don’t have good music there’s really nothing else this club can offer you.
The drinks are mediocre, and for $30+. The atmosphere is nice but other places like the Flatiron room have great music on random nights and world class whiskey selection. You will get kicked out after 2 hours there. All in all just a very average NYC experience that’s very pricey. So come here if you just want to burn money.
I’m truly not sure why anyone would come here except to “feel fancy,” because the club lacks real substance of anything of value on an average night.
After having to email and had to follow up for a reservation I’m shocked that a 5 star brand yielded such a poor experience

First off I thought this place was a 2 star Michelin for the level of attentiveness and variety/quality of food we had. I loved the personalized card that we got and the little phone pad. Everything was just SO thoughtful, and that thoughtfulness (predicting the needs of myself before I even know it) is what truly makes a place a 2 vs 1 star. I hope they get a 2 star soon!
Overall I do believe that the cooked dishes here are better than the raw. The crispy unagi was some of the best I’ve had, but the sushi I’ve had better elsewhere (except for the horse mackerel — that was amazing).
The chef was wonderfully friendly and great at taking the time to explain each dish. The other staff not so much in terms of banter. Of all the Omakase I’ve been to this is probably the most formal feeling one with a distinct feel of everyone trying to be on their “best behavior” for their guests.

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we both had a wonderful time! There wasn’t a single part of the menu that I didn’t like. Everything was beautiful, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared. The flavors worked perfectly together as everything we ate was so unique even down to the most ubiquitous dish of all — kimchi!
The dessert was not too sweet and you could taste all the flavors because it wasn’t covered in sugar. It’s perfect for my East asian pallet for lighter desserts.
The staff are also wonderfully attentive but not overly formal. We felt so comfortable there and could definitely see ourselves coming back.
One thing that could have been improved was just the mention of the add ons. We discovered after we had left that there was an uni add on but we had no idea! Maybe it was unavailable by the time we finished. So make sure to ask about their add ons in case you like uni!

Gorgeous restaurant, great staff, wonderfully priced, and food was delicious. We went for brunch and got the chilaquilles which was SO good. I found the steak a bit hard to chew, but no one else at the table seemed to complain. The bbq’d plantain was fantastic — first time having it but my Latin friends loved it. Apparently the lime pie was super authentic according to my table guests as well
