Seasoned Restaurant

A friend recommended this place as it was half price pizza on a Saturday morning. I was very impressed with this small spot, wife and I saw that they had some accolades and it is well deserved. The size of these pizzas were generous, the fries were cooked to perfection and the aioli, I really enjoyed the aioli. I am not sure what their recipe is but it didn't feel heavy, had a nice acidic bite and was creamy. Each of the pizzas were tasty. The sauce they used was not overly salty, airy dough, charred nicely, and each topping paired well with the others. Very good value, very good morsels of food. I would like to visit again and try the other items!

Our friends recommended this spot and it is a hidden gem. The menu is varied with lots of options, but even staples and Canadian spin-off dishes were all tasty and great value. I don't have somali food often and it is reminiscent of middle eastern flavours. I had the kebab plate and shared samosas with my wife. We enjoyed the meal, I do miss garlic sauce which is not synonymous to Somali dishes but the side sauce that came with it was a great addition to the dishes we had. Will come back for more if I am ever in the area again. It is probably a hidden gem as the rexdale area has very little options.
PHO OK

Small cozy joint in North York. Clean broth, flavourful and not too badly priced. The pho dac biet had good generous portions of meat and rice rolls were not bad. The peanut sauce was interesting, as usually rice rolls are eaten with fish sauce and for some reason maybe for aesthetics they cut them in half. I usually have them whole. All in all a good dine-in spot for the area as it is not usually the spot for Vietnamese cuisine. A huge plus is complimentary parking downstairs.
I came here to celebrate my wife's birthday with family. I am stuck on how to review this one. I wish we could do halves but I guess I will round it to a 5 star. I will say that staff, ambience and decor are all spot on. We had the private booth in the back, a nice touch of traditional Japanese flooring but with the "comical" bottomed out seating so you do not have to sit cross legged. What I am hung up on is the food and its value. I know sushi is a huge market, and there are levels of quality you expect for certain establishments. For a very upscale restaurant, I was expecting a little more. I hate to compare restaurants, but I just find the portions here are something left to be desired. For the value you get from the orders, you just do not get enough. The quality of fish is good, some exquisite, but some other orders are why add this to your menu at all? An example is the spicy salmon, it just looks pretty similar to what you get at other spots but it might be more expensive with no real reasoning other than the spot you are in. It is a bit unfortunate, but otherwise everything else was fairly stellar. Though the complimentary ice cream was also nothing spectacular. It is a good unique spot for some dishes but not all.
