Place Vendôme Mall
2024 Oct 30
By far the best mall in Doha and I have been to quite a few.
It's got their high-end luxury brand sections that are so beautifully designed with large open space and ceilings, but you may also find standard brands and especially Zara and Sephora have got their own statement structures within.
There is a fantastic easy food court with all sorts of fast food and easy food brands. And you can also try one of their many restaurants on their C level where you may find their version of fountain show that happens at night at every full hour.
If you just want a quick bite or snack, there are little coffee stations and carts throughout.
There is also a Vogue Cafe and a Armani Cafe. Maybe more as I still haven't lapsed the entire mall yet and I have already been three times.
For kids the 2nd floor is an absolute dream. From trampoline parks, to two different soft play stations to magic village, to crayon lands and stops to even a computer gaming shop, and a Trocadero - a small indoor theme park, there is literally something for every age!
All toilet facilities are super clean and checked regularly.
There are four main gates where you can get dropped off at the top or walk down a level and get picked up by cars/ubers.
Just make sure you don't hire those kids buggies at gate 2, as we were charged £82 for two for 2 hrs which is heavily priced for that they are very hard maneuverable.

All in all, it's definitly better than Festival mall or city centre mall and definitly better than lagoon (which however has a rolex store). Oh and vendome is lacking a chanel store.. Not that I do recommend shopping in Doha as everything is quite a bit dearer than in Europe.
But atmosphere, restaurants and architecture are a high 5!
Must visit!
Parc du Champ de Mars

Perfect for the summer months, has got a few fountains and a ground spray area to cool down the little ones. Also has a carousel and a few cafes. Very clean and well maintained
One of the rather relaxed places within a strict Moslemic environment where you don't get nasty glances if you're holding hands or having a cheeky kiss.
Nice decor, very good music, large pool (even though the colour of it changed slightly throughout the afternoon like all beach club pools do) large DJ stage but it's only for certain days. We visited on a Friday and this day didn't seem special enough, the brunch is only offered on a Saturday.
Beach area is large and rather under occupied and hard to catch the attention of staff members if something is needed.
Might give it a try again in the future
From top to bottom, five stars all the way!
No need to mention how beautiful this hotel is, since it's only 6months old, but it was the people here that made the difference! All rooms come with their own kitchen and laundry facilities which is really handy.
This is a perfect family resort, spotlessly clean and safe. Two good sized outdoor pools, the adults pool overlooks Doha city. And a massive Olympic sized indoor pool.
Real large gym which I have never made it to yet and 3 excellent restaurants.
Only downside is the selection of breakfast which was a la carte only and a little limited (we needed to request for porridge separately) but otherwise great kids meals throughout.

Some highlights were Abirami, Danielle at the breakfast service, Gaurav, Naughty (yep that s his name) Santos, at the loulou poolside service, the 24/7 life guards Phil & Mark that you can trust your children with when in the pools, and if course the girls from the kids club!
It's approx 3min from the marina monoprix supermarket, and approx 25min to souq waqif, airport or the Meryal waterpark.
Thumbs up we are already booked to return!
The long awaited Japanese contribution to Berkeley square!
Always wanted a qualitative non-fushion restaurant with good atmosphere there without having to face all those 18year old girls that usually populate this square on any night of the week on their hunt for happiness?
Beautiful restaurant, great dishes (if you don't fancy the South American twist of Amazónico or the European touch of Sexy fish next doors then this is your spot!).
The chef even invited us into the kitchen to get the full experience, there was a little underground bar that gave away a 1920s feel.
Very friendly staff too, highly recommended!
