Always a pleasure to buy fish and chips here. I would suggest their ladies stockfish parcel. It is enough food for 2 plates and always fresh and delicious.

I might be in the wrong here, but I am of understanding that if a place closes at 4, you can take in orders untill about 15:55. I have came here numerous afternoons at different time slots. Anywhere between 15:30 and 15:50 just to be told, no we close at 4 so we already locked off. They can't even make a cup of coffee.. You cannot log off and cash up an half an hour before you are supposed to close or do I understand it wrong?

When I came in at 15:30 in this week, luckilly another woman came in as well, because I knew if it was just me they would not have helped me, because the lady was already busy with counting the card slips for the day. Then when we ordered, we were asked to pay immediately, because she wants to cash up. And the staff, I asume from the kitchen, because they wear aprons, always sit-lay on the chairs where the clients are supposed to sit. They hang out there and listen to music or watch videos with their earphones, not a worry in the world about what the image of Bean tree looks like. I get it that you must rest, but one can look proffesional at your work place where you would want clients to come to. Also, the lady that normaly tells me they are closed really isn't the friendliest person in this world. A smile or better tone of voice wouldn't kill you, it might just give a better impression of your service.
I enjoy their food and coffee, but their attitude and cash up time really gives off a negative vibe.

Our food was good, but thats about it. We had to call a waitress to be served. When I asked for a kiddies cooldrink, because I cannot drink more, the first waiter took the order without a problem. Then another waiter came to me and said I cannot have the kiddies, it must be a regular or large. So I had to stay without any thing to drink, because buying a regular wouldve been a waste. When we asked why I couldnt have one, she couldnt really answer me and there after avoided us. We waited very long for our food to come. The waiter never even once came by to ask if every thing is fine. When my husbands food was done, she just came by and took away his plate and glass without asking if he want something else. When I was done we waited on her to come by so we can get the bill, instead she stood by another waitress and danced instead of providing service. Only once she saw we were standing at the paypoint she came to bring the bill. This was on a Saturday morning that was really not busy.
Unfortunately this was the worst service we have ever received at (any and especially this) Spur. We are really dissapointed in the service.
