This buffet has been a long-time favorite of ours in Melbourne. However, our recent visit left us slightly disappointed with the food quality.
We arrived at 6 pm on a weeknight and were promptly seated, but we noticed that some items at the hot food station weren't adequately heated, and a few dishes were overcooked. The cold seafood station's freshness was inconsistent; while oysters and sashimi were generally fresh, the prawns were somewhat fishy and overcooked.
The desserts also did not appear to be freshly made. We thought several cakes in the fridge were either stale or hard (see video)
On the positive side, the service from the waitstaff was exceptional. However, some of the chefs appeared a bit grumpy, which slightly impacted our overall experience.
As a suggestion for improvement, we hope the restaurant considers bringing back dedicated lobster nights rather than random rotations.
