Hard to find a decent cappuccino anywhere in Brixton, and here is no exception. Classic Starbucks quality, and if that is sufficient, then this will be more than adequate.
Decent WiFi and plentiful food on the plate of the Full English Breakfast make this a decent place to visit if you want some reasonably tasty food and are not that fussy with the coffee.
Hard to give this more than 3 stars overall.
The owner replied to this review, stating the quality of the bean and the amount of 5* reviews. All I can say is that the cappuccino was far too foamy and poorly prepared. Not the fault of the bean nor the equipment, simply a matter of training. This is a more than adequate Starbucks quality cappuccino that, if served anywhere except the UK or the US, would not get more than 3*ever. Starbucks coffee is just not that popular on the continent, and as I live in Berlin, for instance, I can say with absolute clarity that this type of coffee preparation would not be a success.
For complete fairness, I will try again when I am in the UK again as I use Brixton a lot for commuting and see if it was a one-off and simply down to one poorly trained member of staff.

I don't really understand the lower than average reviews for this place. For me, if it was not for the price, it would get 5* all the way. No real need to book ahead as it was not too busy, even for a Saturday, and you have to queue up anyway! Exhibitions are not particularly varied in style but it's a modern art gallery with strong societal message that may or may not resonate with you, but as long as you go with an open mind you will enjoy it for sure. Some of the exhibitions may not be suitable for under 12s, depending on your own family values. For us, our kids were happy to go and make up their own minds, but I would understand if some parents would categorise this as 16+. Lovely café and bookshop on the ground floor. The only downside for me was that it cost me almost €50 for 2 adults and 2 children and with some refreshments later, it sits amongst the more expensive galleries in Berlin to visit.
Great location in the heart of Potsdam but the prices and quality is only average at best. Service is also pretty poor. The waitress didn't even know that sorbet was vegan! No comment....not recommended. Try elsewhere.
Nice stop and lovely vegan cakes on offer. Nice atmosphere and a decent coffee as well. Will come back and try their cappuccino and maybe need to adjust this review later....only downsides are that they only take cards for €10 and above, it's pretty expensive overall and they don't allow laptops everywhere, just inside on the mezzanine floor.
I'm rather disappointed in this one. I had high hopes as the choice of beer, ample food options, and lower than "normal" prices sounded very nice on paper. On Vegan Mondays, they even offer a 2 for 1 deal for all vegan or vegetarian options. A great deal bearing in mind most of the main courses were under €13.
Service was probably our biggest issue as quiet simply, it was just not good enough with nowhere near the appropriate level of staff for such a large restaurant.
Other issues were they can not fry anything here as there is a building code that forbids it, so no fries for us, which disappointed the kids enormously.
My Halloumi Pizza was a little embarrassing, to be honest, as I have to rank it as the worst Halloumi I have ever had anywhere near a pizza. I am Cypriot, so I am qualified to judge this, and I would be very surprised if this was Halloumi at all, but perhaps a "fake" halloumi sometimes called Hallo Cheese? Anyway, stay well clear of this one.
However, it was not all doom and gloom as the Bacon Hotdog was fantastic, as was the Spicy Meat Pizza, so there were those on the table that certainly enjoyed their food more than me. On top of that, they had some interesting price offers that can save you a fair amount of money like a game of rock, paper, scissors that if you win the table gets a free dessert!
So, a very reasonably priced restaurant with a few great dishes, if you choose wisely, in a nice location. Recommended? I am afraid not for me, but perhaps you might enjoy some of the other dishes, and if you can put up with the tragically slow speed of service on offer here, it might be worth a visit.
