We stopped in at Manatee Cove Park while in the area. The park is located on Merritt Island just off of route. Nice little park 29+ acre community river park with a playground, picnic shelter, parking lot with plenty of parking and kayak launch area at the mangroves. A natural trail around the lagoon provides access for shoreline fishing.
We stopped by Kings Park after reading about its biking / walking trails, on line. Kings Park is a 240-acre community / river park located on Merritt Island and is primarily a wetland preserve and a great place for a hike or ride and viewing nature. The park was fairly secluded and had a large parking area and restroom. We road the Pioneer Trail which is an easy 2.7-mile out-and-back paved trail, which took us about a half hour, with plenty of stops to take photos. We did not encounter many other people while exploring. The trail winds through the hammocks and between two small lakes. We saw numerous birds and even an alligator.
What a great little park. We stumbled upon the Manatee Sanctuary Park while site seeing in Cape Canaveral. The pet friendly park was very nicely kept and offers paved walking trails with a boardwalk and picnic shelters overlooking the Banana River. There are various sculptures, restroom facilities and a pond. Beware of the alligators... What a great asset for Cape Canaveral.
Situated on the shores of Lake Erie, Geneva State Park is located just West of Geneva on the Lake. The park encompasses over 1.5 miles of Lake Erie shoreline and has its own beach. The park has a large campground, camp store and offers nice level semi private sites. There is a paved walking and bike trail connecting the campgrounds to the beach, lodge and cabins. We really enjoyed our stay at Geneva State Park.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Geneva State Park Campgrounds. Located in the Geneva State Park on the shores of Lake Erie. The campsites were nice size and level with electric hook ups, fire ring, and picnic table. There was a clean out station and potable water available. The campgrounds, shower and rest room facilities were clean and well kept. The staff at the campground office and store were pleasant and friendly. We had a very relaxing stay and hope to return again when we are in the area.
