This is a nice little park, not very busy unless there’s an event being held in the cabin. The trails are relatively wet and muddy during the spring, but I suppose that’s to be expected in Rochester. They’re not particularly stroller friendly as there are a bunch of roots along the path. If you have a Bob stroller, you’ll be fine. Lovely views, lots of good plants and birds to look at.
Good selection of liquors, but I was even more impressed with the beer selection. This is one of the few stores I found that sells local beer - my fave was Key brewing company. I most appreciate when somebody sells something from so close to home. Shop keep (staff?) is friendly and knows his stuff. Good local store.
We had a lovely time at this popular park. The playground had separate big kid and little kid equipment which was nice. There was a covered pavilion with picnic benches co-located. There was also a nice walking path with plenty of foot traffic on a spring day. At the far end of the parking lot there are port-a-potties (near the flag pole). On the other end of the parking lot you can catch a baseball game through the fence if you’re lucky.
*we passed the entrance accidentally. Turn in by the water tower

Wow we LOVE watching the planes take off. The playground is pretty nice, but geared a bit towards older kids. Little ones (3 and under) will have trouble navigating the higher parts safely. Rubber mulch. If you have a little one obsessed with planes/jets you need to come by. There was also a beautiful walking/biking trail. At the far side of the playground (relative to the road) there are port-a-potties.
I would strongly suggest getting the App “FlightRadar24” to help you track when planes are about to take off. When they cross the landing strip they’re about 5 seconds from being high enough in the sky for little ones to see them.

What a wonderful place! We enjoyed it even on a gray day in the 50’s. (Feb ‘23) The animals are fun to see, the playground is incredibly nice and age appropriate for just about everyone. We even enjoyed walking around the trails at the perimeter. We saw people using them for casual strolls, running, and even geocaching! There are 5 on the premises. We also had the good fortune of finding a painted rock which we logged with the local Facebook group, Painted Rocks of Maryland (PRMD)
