Duck Creek Park

Although the cleanness could use some work at the entrance and in the water, the path is very nice. Another great place to get away from it all, in the middle of Garland. Because the trees are big and tall, once in, you won't see traffic. When you check the map, there is also a point to get back to the main road if you don't want to complete a whole circuit. From that point it is. 10-12 min walk back to the main lot where you likely would have started.
Nice and quiet skate times weekdays between 1-5. Call in or check the online schedule. Space to skate, friendly environment! Judgment-free zone. Would recommend for any who want to try ice skating for the first time or who want to get back into it after a long break. When the ice is freshly zamboni'd, it's like driving on a new road, so you're less likely to chip into something and fall. Give it a shot! (PS: there are free hockey lessons around March, if you're thinking of picking up a new hobby or trying something new.)
Small personal opinion: If you go during the holiday season, there *will* be a long line for the tickets before going in. See attached photo. Best to go in off season, when there are less people. Great hangout spot, but you've been warned :) Please don't take it out on the staff, the business, or the experience itself. If necessary, there are also quite a few ice skating rinks in the Dallas area that will offer public skate times, just as an alternate option.

Catch a break or watch cool busking experiences! Interesting tidbit. If you are a busker, you might like this. Not sure how it's done, so do your research, but according to my guide there is a civil system set in place for busking at Trafalgar. And once you pass, there are designated circles to perform. That spot and that time is yours.
