Super cute two level shop house restaurant focused on Isan regional cuisine. A wonderful variety of som tum options, as well as mains, snacks and starters. Food is nicely presented by knowledgeable staff. Ingredients are high quality and fresh. I tried the vegetarian som tum which was crisp and fresh. It was served with a side cup of fresh veggies, and basil to add in to build your own final version. Recommend the lemongrass herbal tonic drink with a slightly sweet offset to the spicy chili in the som tum. My favorite seat is one of the few outside overs along the sidewalk.. Great people watching location! I have made this a regular stop when I visit Bangkok and will definitely be back.
Still one of my favorite gay bars in Hells Kitchen, just because it is who it is. Not pretentious, just an everyday crowd, gorgeous and funny drag queens, and fun and personable bartenders. They have happy hour specials and plenty of space with the stage and DJ at the back.
This is a cafe that reminds you that while coffee chains serve their purpose, a local coffee house is a place you want to be. Old records, classic music, floor to ceiling murals highlighting this location, unfinished industrial shop house New York feel all add to the experience, and you haven't even reached the counter tucked away at the back. Coffee options are numerous, I tried an organic single origin bean from Brazil, which was a medium strong roast that didn't wipe out the tasting notes. What was convenient if you are on the go was they will have this nicer bean in a filter coffee brew, normally limited to standard coffees. I tried a chocolate chip scone with my coffee which was generally good in taste and texture. Nice and efficient staff.
Nice local gay bar with casual atmosphere, tasty drink options, plenty of video screens, and classic gay bar fun like Sunday Drag Brunch, and Drag Bingo Tuesdays. A menu of hot Winter drinks is a nice alternative, I recommend the Spot Hot Chocolate, a rich chocolaty drink with your choice of alcohol like Jameson's Whiskey. Ask for whipped cream on top. A seasonal option is the Hot Cider with Makers Mark. If you are seeking a strong drink, the hot cider holds more whiskey. Friendly and handsome bartenders are happy to chat .
A coffee shop with a local feel, despite the glass building location. Straight forward coffee menu using beans locally roasted in Brooklyn, which gave a medium dark roast flavor. A nice selection of baked goods, some vegan options as well. I tried both the chocolate chip cookie and the blueberry scone. Recommend the cookie... Which was considerably thick, not too sweet, and soft enough to eat directly and crispy enough to dunk in your coffee. Friendly owner can provide suggestions.
