Pretty like a Disney castle, but when we went it was also crowded like one. Away from the bastion, wandering through the quiet streets of Pest, the atmosphere was very different, so I suppose choose your timing well, because mid day in August is definitely not the best time to go.
Amazing views and a nice cool and peaceful climb to the top, we preferred this to the funicular on the other side, which you have to queue for and it was full of children. The light in the morning is better from Urgell and the way up is tree lined. There are washrooms a small church at the top.
Birgu at sunset is magic! We were practically running around like kids in a candy shop trying to capture every new beautiful view. I would come back here in a heartbeat!
This was my favourite church in Porto, it's covered in high Baroque gilded carving and the museum was interesting too. Definitely much more interesting than Igreja de Carmo.
Surprisingly comprehensive from a great ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman sculpture and artifacts early medieval and renaissance painting, design and of course Leonardo Davinci's lady with an Ermine. A lot to see but also fairly compact if you just want to spend an hour or two.
