With the recommendation of a few friends, I wanted to try this theatre. This one is located very close to Ambatur railway station & advisable to go only by train. The road is too narrow and heavily jammed with bikes & cars when the show is over.

They have 4 screens in which Sri Murugan & Thiru murugan are the biggest. The 1st is bigger than the 2nd.

The lighting & theme is blue which is very pleasing to the eyes. Though it'll be slightly difficult for elders to find their seats in the dark.

The screen was opened like old style. Curtains. It was a wonderful experience for us after a very long time. Video attached.

Video & Audio is excellent & specially the disco lights for a few scenes.

Parking is good but all the bikes & cars will pack the road once it comes out after the show.

Restrooms are neat & clean.

Snacks are moderately priced & they follow MRP. No paper tissues are given & neither available with them. QR payment is available.

Excellent theatre for big star movies. Need to check once again in normal times.
We had South Indian Filter Coffee here & it was good.

One of the single screen theatres in Chennai which was renovated recently and comes under the banner of Ambatur Rakki cinemas. Around 700+ seats in this theatre with ample space for bike & car parking. They have 2 levels. Premium & Executive. Video & Audio quality is very good with high volume in few areas. The theatre was quite dark even in the interval time but for human eyes it's fine. Elders may find it difficult to navigate. Toilets are near and clean. I didn't try the snacks. Pricing of tickets is reasonable but I prefer a 10 or 20 less would be great. Overall a good theatre.

It's my 1st time in this movie theatre. The location is in a prime area and there is no need for any maps or route guides. This theatre has 2 screens but not sure about the 2nd screen. I saw a door written screen 2.

The theatre is quite compact. Not too big nor too small. Parking is open as usual and good for bikes. Cars, they have limited space. Theme is red. They accept M-Ticket. No physical copy needed. 20 for bikes.

I booked a seat in Lounge AA and I completely regret after I went into. The screen wasn't visible on the left bottom. Poor viewing angle from lounge. All in the lounge felt the same. Ticket price is same for all class.

Didn't tried snacks or used the restroom. It's a single owner property and you may expect how good both would be.

Screen and sound is ok. Sound is better. There was a wall mounted fan on the wall next to me which blows air constantly on my head. High chances of getting cold.

Just wanted to try and I'll not go for this again. The staff were polite.
VR CINEMAS

It was our 1st time in this theatre and it's the very closest to our home. This movie theatre was named VR cinemas after the famous Rakki cinemas, Ambatur bought it. Before it was Rohini.

Location is near pattabiram-thandarai bridge.

The theatre is just the building by itself and got renovated very recently.

It's a 2k projection theatre with around 500-600 seats and all are cushioned and got pushback. But the pushback is way too low and probably the shorter people might find difficult in watching.

Theme of seats is red with blue cover. Seats are comfortable. Lighting was very bright.

As like all local theatres, this one also has loud sound. The picture quality was great. The management should work on audio quality.

For the price I paid, I didn't enjoy the audio. It was just stereo. However the theatre didn't advertise about the audio like Dolby, DTS etc. This is definitely not Atmos enabled.

We buy the tickets straight from counter a day before but they accept only cash which was very odd and we understood it might be for accounting purposes. Also I noticed that all must carry physical copy of ticket even if booked online. That's not fair. When you almost by the entrance to get in and you are told to get physical ticket to enter the screens, you'll definitely get embarrassed.

Like other major players, VR cinemas must allow to enter just with SMS/online ticket. It'll ease the flow.

Except myself, All in my family tried regular popcorn with some spicy powder to enhance flavour & taste. The taste was like some sambhar/rasam powder and was too spicy. I tried caramel popcorn.

Parking is quite big for cars/bikes. Rs.10 for bikes and Rs.15 for cars. But no one took back the tickets when we leave. One of the staffs locked the bike parking door and we waited little longer to get opened after the show. However I don't think he was back. The door was force opened by public.

We didn't used the toilet facilities.

The theatre is crowded with local people including ourselves and you can definitely expect few verbal assaults/clashes. Luckily nothing big happened yesterday. Family crowd is purely depends on the movie.

Overall an decent theatre and I appreciate if the management works on few areas I mentioned.
