Parking is not the issue. It's hit or miss whether they have someone in the booths and if there are tixkets in the machines.

We went during the Cherry Blossom 10 mile race, and the machine was out of tickets. We just so happened to be the first person in line holding everyone else up, and it was a cluster. Of course, the woman who was supposed to be manning it didn't make it into work that day, so they were scrambling to find someone to come assist with manually issuing parking passes. It didn't help that it was at 6 am. You would think before a large event like the race that they would have made sure the machines were topped off. It took 20 minutes to get into the garage.

There is ample parking and if you know your way around the Reagan Building you can cut through it very easily to get to where you a are going in D.C. it's pricey but it beats dealing with the metro when going to events in the D.C. area like the Caps/Wizard games.

Park is great for kids, not so much for parents. There are three play areas and the kids love to jump from one to another which either requires you to helicopter parent if you want to keep eyes on or to accept you won't always be able to see them. All structures are on unlevel ground (slopes downhill) and the Pavillion, that can be rented for about $80) has two picnic tables that are about to fall apart and awkwardly placed. There are bathrooms and a small stream below the playgrounds.
