I recently moved to the DMV area with plans to stay for six months. I found this church, fell in love with this church, and am now a year in, hoping I can stay as long as I can in DC because I LOVE GCCCH too much to leave. Let me tell you just some of the reasons why.

The moment I came, I was blown away by the hospitality, generosity, and warmth of the people at Grace Covenant Church Capitol Hill (GCCCH)! They are intentional about providing many ways to connect with each other - from weekly small groups and prayer calls to monthly after-church hangouts (we all gather in the church basement and share meals together at minimum monthly, so special!). GCCCH also really values being a multi-ethnic, multi-generational church, and within a short period of time coming, I was able to connect with peers and older women alike and people of all backgrounds! I also appreciate that the teaching is grounded in Scripture, that we address the real questions people have all through a gospel lens, that we have a heart for prayer and growing in-depth in knowledge (and application) of Scripture, and that people of all walks - those who are seeking, new or mature in t knowing Jesus can ALL grow in their relationship with God. Also, I have grown so much in my gifting and leadership by being able to serve in so many areas and having many opportunities to disciple and love others well.

We are also intentional about serving the community and partnering with local organizations in the area. Last year, all the Grace Covenant locations celebrated the anniversary of the church by serving 20+ organizations and handing $10K checks to each organization! What’s amazing is that these are all organizations we regularly partner with. Also, we have the desire to plant churches in every ward of DC by 2030 so that every part of DC can be reached with the gospel and the love of Christ. I have been blown away by the generosity of this church and how much we care about meeting the needs of the city through addressing both physical and spiritual needs.

Grace Covenant also has a HUGE culture of grace (hence the name). And it trickles down from leadership. The way the pastors and leaders extend grace to each other / to members and live out the gospel shows that they’re really living Spirit-empowered lives. They’re depending on the Holy Spirit at every moment and have great expectancy that He is working in and through us as a church to reach our city.

All that to say, if you’re looking for a church home or are wanting to grow in your relationship with Christ, please come check us out!!! It is such a special place and home for so many, myself included.
