I have been to some of the top Thai restaurants in the city and enjoyed some great tasting food, including dishes prepared by an Iron Chef. This meal, from Thai One on in Pickering, can't compare to those flavours but it actually wasn't bad.
We had a variety of dishes, including Pad Thai noodles, Red Curry Chicken, Garlic Shrimp, Mango Salad, and more. This meal was better than I had anticipated. Maybe I'll drop by for one of their lunch specials...

My visitors from Oklahoma, originally from Malaysia, don't get too much Asian food back in Tulsa so we've been dining at a lot of Chinese restaurants.
This time, we went to Congee Queen in Markham, a place I haven't been to in a long time. The dishes that we ordered were mostly comfort food, nothing too fancy.
We had BBQ Pork Rice Noodle Rolls, typically served at dim sum; a couple of different Congees; Fried Chili Turnip Patties; and Salted Fish and Pork with Rice in Hot Pot. Everything was good, enjoyed by all. My favourite was the hot pot dish with the salted fish and pork. It had tons of flavour. Overall, we enjoyed the food.
The service, however, could have been much better. Our server didn't seem very interested in helping us and the tone of his voice definitely wasn't friendly. To top it off, one of the dishes brought to us was incorrect! This tainted the experience for all of us.

After meeting with a friend after work, I stopped in at Ka Wor Yuen BBQ, conveniently located right next to where we were. I picked up some dinner to take home and lunch for the next day.
For dinner, I got a combo of Roast Pork and Soya Chicken. It included rice, vegetables, and soup for under $8.00. Good deal!
I also picked up an order of Roast Pork, cooked down with a nice gravy. For only $5.00, there was more than enough for two meals.
For three meals, this was good food at great prices!

It's been a while since I've been to La Sani Grill but I had a craving for butter chicken that needed to be satisfied. It seemed like I was the only customer dining in but they were preparing quite a few orders for pickup.
I ordered the Butter Chicken, served with naan. It was creamy and delicious as I remembered it but there was a lot more sauce than chicken. I don't remember it being like that. Although tasty, this might not have been such a good value.
