Free parking and free entry. Interesting mix of Medieval, Tudor and Victorian architecture. Smithill Moor nearby for walking. Smithill Animal Farm next door. Third visit....
Apparently one of the finest examples of Tudor building in UK. Lots of rooms to explore by yourself. £6.50 entry fee. Small parking charge too but you can park in street directly opposite over the main road.
Excellent everyday food reasonably priced, good service, nice enough surroundings. Apparently 60 different types of Grappa 3.50 Euros per glass.
Nice to visit if in area. Parking for 2-3 cars outside or grass verge further down towards old church which is worth a visit too. You can now access the inside of castle as locks cut. No information boards.
