Don’t miss ASB trail and Sandy’s Beach! Most locals aren’t even aware of these things. And no, it doesn’t loop unfortunately.
Great mall! Lots of Bellingham locals hold a negative view these days and probably haven’t been there in years. I think they’d be surprised. It was vibrant but now crowded, lots of fun stores and things to do. Good food court with a nice seating area. The Ruckus room was fun.
Nice little park as close as you can get to downtown. Good playground, and lots of options for walks. I like to go here and walk the ASB trail. There is coffee and ice cream in the granary building.
Cool tower in a GREAT casual hiking area and urban park. This is a free city of Bellingham park. Great views of Bellingham.
To talk about the park itself - If this park is the best in the city for one thing - TRAIL RUNNING. Not too technical, not too steep but good variety in grade. Not somewhere you need to drive to.
Otherwise, beautiful hiking or walking trails and great views from the observation tower. You can absolutely forget you are surrounded by the densest parts of the city in here.
Overall, the well-maintained paths and diverse flora make it a must-visit for locals and tourists alike. I personally think it’s a bit underrated compared to Bellinghams other similar urban nature parks.

Great park in the heart of the city, with an interpretive trail of sorts, sign that’s describe local native plan life and the history of the park. The county is named for the cascading water in this park. Whatcom meaning noisy or noisy water.
It’s September so you don’t have to wait long to see Salmon.
