There are many great gastro pubs in Melbourne and then there is the Napier. The absolute benchmark for food served in a great pub. Their standard menu has great burgers and parmas, then the extensive specials board really shows how talented the kitchen staff are. Super friendly staff at the front, make the experience welcoming everytime. If you appreciate impressive food in a relaxed environment, the Napier is a must go.
July 2023 update: I have been going here for 20 years, however the secret is now out. Napier is deservedly super busy and still the absolute benchmark of gastro pubs.

We booked well in advance before arriving in Tokyo and we were glad we did. The amazing quality and preparation of the sushi was on a level that is difficult to put in to words. Additionally, Chef Junichi talks about where every dish is sourced from and how each sake is matched to the food. Quite simply, this is not just an amazing omekase sushi experience, but one of the best food experiences I have ever had the pleasure to discover. If you are a food lover in Japan, this restaurant is an absolute must go.
