Ober Mountain turned out to be quite the adventure! Despite some mixed reviews I stumbled upon, here's my take. Many opt to park in Gatlinburg and ride the tram up to the ski lodge, but we chose to drive all the way up. The journey involved navigating several winding roads, but upon arrival, the parking lot was nearly empty, given it was the final day of the ski season. Still, parking was $20.

It was the first skiing experience for my wife and our two teenage boys - not something you typically do in Florida!

Once we paid, we geared up, starting with helmets and ski bibs. The staff member assisting us was super helpful, ensuring the helmets fit perfectly.

However, the experience dipped a bit at the ski and boot rental counter. Despite three attendants, after getting our boots, no one checked to see if they fit right or if we needed any help. I ended up spending the next 15 minutes making sure everyone was set, and then they were off to ski school.

The ski instructor, Travis, I think, was fantastic. He spent a good hour with my family, focusing on fun and the fundamentals.

The layout of Ober Mountain really impressed me. There's a dedicated area for kids and families, a large outdoor video screen for events, and even synthetic grass to keep the place tidy and appealing.

It seems like Ober Mountain is a hidden treasure all year round, from winter skiing to summer biking. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
Pretty cool place. Lots to do with family and friends. Very kid and teen friendly. From old school side shows, to video games, to bowling. They have everything. Located on a hill, so be prepared for waking back up if you decide to take a stroll to see the falls. Lots of parking options. Some $5 per day others $15.
