I want to start out by saying, the idea and the creativity of restaurant garden and local sourced seasonal food is spectacular. The concept, even walking in knowing this would be a driving reason for the high price of dinner, didn't stray us away from eating.
The size of the meals is small, and that's ok, but they are also not fulfilling, not a lot of things to soak up the delicious cocktails they have. We decided to get a few apps and small plates to share so we could really do a flavor tour. The deviled eggs were good, bacon on them perfect, whipped perfectly. And then things got really bitter. I don't know if it was just what we picked or what but there was so much vinegary and pickled flavors that it was almost like it was trying to hid something else.. (or preserve the garden food when the growing season is done and still use it), and then using kale and other bitter leaf things on top of it, it was too much bitter. And like I said it could just have been that we picked things that happen to all have that, and therefore it was what it was. I was kinda bummed about it because like I said, this place marvels in all other comparison and the concept is magnificent. Our goal is to try again when a new seasonal menu come out and be more conscious in maybe pairing different things. Plating and timing of food was spectacular and they were really busy.
Knowing we were going to have to chance it and walk in, because they were not taking new reservations til a month out; their flexibility with dine at the bar, and bar table area is also great.
The staff, I cannot say enough good things. They helped each other out and ran things for each other. The bartenders, with all of the craft cocktails did well keeping up with the 10 tickets printing a a time and a full bar.
The atmosphere is neat. The indoor and outdoor seating, the walkable garden, the cleanliness etc. I encourage you to walk the grounds.
