First time visiting a Forest Holidays park and I was blown away by the thoughtfulness of the folks that plan and organise these locations. So much attention to detail was fantastic to see and made the trip very pleasurable.
Thorpe Forest was a short drive from the A14 and very easy to find and get to. It is fairly isolated in the beautiful forest however a 5ish minute drive from Thetford which is handy for supplies, essentials and eating out.
The holiday park itself is stunning and well kept. There's good signage to get you around and maps are available should you get lost. Each cabin is numbered as well so you know for sure you've found the right one. The cabins themselves are fantastically organised in a way where you barely overlook other guests if at all. Also the views both from your cabin and around the park generally are fantastic, even in the middle of rainy November.
The accommodation itself is very clean and of high quality and spec. Firstly the living area has a nice large television with a nicely thought out HDMI and power socket to use your own entertainment device or games console, nicely done. Everything is open plan and spacious making for a very comfy experience. As some others have noted - the sofas are indeed very low, I must confess this would be one tiny detail I would've charged being a very tall guy. They are low, but they are very comfy when you make it down there!
The kitchen was very clean and very well equipped, again someone took the time and effort to think out the equipment properly. Everything was where we expected it to be and well laid out. Nice to see a few essentials included - thank you 🙏. Kitchen included all the mod cons such as dishwasher and microwave plus a range of utensils you'd expect to find in most homes.
Outside there was a large spacious deck with your very own hot tub which was serviced daily and bbq / outdoor dining. The screen door leading into the kitchen was a life saver and again great attention to detail keeping the wildlife out (and who can blame them wanting to come in the accommodations were fantastic!).
Bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean, high quality and finished to a high standard. Really nice lighting also. The cabins had excellent central heating and hot water. Cannot fault anything. 10/10.
Lastly there's no or very little mobile reception here. However this is fantastic for escaping the boss, for the workaholics and those that just cannot live without internet rest assured the Wi-Fi is flawless here. Not one drop out, everything just worked fine once you're logged in, smartphones will benefit from WiFi calling so you can call home.
Other than that the park had lots of activities to enjoy, fantastic walks, a handy lil shop and cafe and the staff were very polite and friendly.
I had a fantastic 5 day break with friends and was blown away by this holiday, so much so I've bookmarked the website and planning on making this at least a once a year treat myself!
Do come here and enjoy a decent holiday!
