I was at the longterm in Palmer between the years 2018-2019 for 9 months and 17 days and had small stints at their longterm in 2018 and 2019 as well. The trauma this place gave me still haunts me to this day. Do not take your kids here. Take them anywhere else, heck Juneau youth services has a coed facility and an all boys and all girls facility and while it’s not perfect it’s a much better place than northstar.
