I went down a steep embankment to the left of the Visitor's Center driveway to get to it. Seems odd that they don't have an easier method for accessing the tunnel but if you are able to get down the hill it is worth checking out.

Are there scammers? Of course but it’s also a poor Central American county where you can find scammers scamming you out of toilet paper in a public bathroom. It’s not fair to judge the legitimate tour guides and operators because of the scammers outside the park. Yes, there are Guatemalans who try to scam you for parking on the main road. If you already have your tour lined up with Randy he will tell you how to avoid the scammers and where to go to park and he will also set you up with a top notch guide for the park. Please don’t let the 1 star reviews prevent you from enjoying the most beautiful park in all of Costa Rica.
