A magnificent structure, well preserved and still in use for concerts! Located at the foot of the Acropolis, it makes for a great start to the complex. There is an interesting story behind its origin too!!
Lycabettus Hill

A moderately-difficult climb which offers some incredible panoramic views of the city and the Aegean sea at a distance! The highest point in Athens is also pretty famous for its sunset views. A funicular service is available to go up or down, but to reach the station itself is a short workout. Whatever the path taken to reach the top, the views are worth it and more! Golden rays of the setting sun falling on the historic monuments of Athens is a sight to behold. After the lights turn on, it gives a different perspective. Another not-to-be-missed feature in Athens, in spite of the crowds!
Coffee Shop Hirose

Run by a lovely, hospitable couple, it opens very early. Hence ideal if one is in Arashiyama and wants to have coffee/ breakfast. The cinnamon toast and coffee are simply delicious! Don't be surprised if you feel like repeating the order!
Domus Aurea

A place with an incredible story behind it, which has been phenomenally preserved and opened to the public! One can visit only on the last 3 days of the week. A well qualified guide (someone who is probably involved in the ongoing archeological work in the complex) takes us on an awe inspiring tour of the infamous palace! The efforts invested in preserving the structure, and the pattern of the guided tour is absolutely mind-blowing. The VR reconstruction of the palace is incredible, and will change the way we imagine it. A definite must visit in Rome.

PS: It's advisable to book the tickets online well in advance, as limited slots are available.
