Now or Never Coffee
2024 Mar 09
I went there with my friend for coffee. I ordered my usual cappuccino, and my friend ordered a latte. The coffee was good; the cappuccino was well-made and served in the traditional small cup. The service was excellent. The barista was very friendly, smiling, and even cracked a few jokes. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. My only complaint is that there aren't many tables, making it difficult to find a seat. Nevertheless, I'll continue to visit every time I'm in the area.
I always have a difficulty to find a good cappuccino but in Honolulu my first choice was a winner! I chose Hai Coffee at Hyatt based more on my intuition and I was right. First of all they can make small cappuccino (8 ounces) but it is better to order in a cup not a paper cup because paper cups are bigger so you get more milk. Cappuccino is really tasty with good amount of coffee and foam milk as it should be. The service is good but you have to be very clear what you order. In this case I had to clearly say that I want small 8 ounces cappuccino. When my friend was ordering for me and he only said small I got the bigger cup that means more milk that means not good. When I went to say that I wanted small cappuccino the waiter got a little bit defensive and started arguing with me that my friend ordered medium. Well, I don't know at what point was a misunderstanding but it would be nicer that the waiter just re make the cappuccino. He obviously did but with kind of attitude and this time it was just like a coffee with milk with just a little bit od foam at the top.
Nevertheless I was still going there for my cappuccino because it is worth it.
Cafe Bibliotic Hello!

"Having tried various cafes in search of a good cappuccino, I relied on Google Maps reviews to guide my expectations. Unfortunately, most places served mediocre cappuccinos—just weak coffee with a dash of milk foam on top. Eventually, I ventured out of my way to visit Cafe Bibliotic Hello!, and it was a bullseye. Finally, I found a place that makes excellent cappuccinos. I also ordered a salad, as I was starting to miss greens after a week in Japan, and it was delicious too. The next day, I made the trek back for another cappuccino fix. While it wasn't as perfectly made as the first time, it still tasted like coffee, not a cup of milk. Their cheesecake is also top-notch. Overall, Cafe Bibliotic Hello! offers a great experience with a cool atmosphere and friendly service. I highly recommend this place."
Mojito Bar

The Mojito Restaurant seems to be very popular in Cabarete and recommended... I wonder why... My husband and I went there for dinner. There were no free tables on the beach, but we found a spot inside. We sit down and... it begins! A lesson in patience... We wait endlessly for the menu, then again endlessly for the waitress to come take our order. She doesn't approach, so we almost forcibly flag down another passing by our table. Unfortunately, she responds in Spanish and doesn't take our order. We hunt down another waitress. We finally manage to place our order. And again, the endless waiting begins. Having learned from experience, I head out to the beach knowing I have plenty of time. During this time, someone from the staff brings cutlery but only for one person. Well, I wasn't at the table... ;) We wait, wait, and wait... finally, they bring us... everything at once, appetizers and main courses together! My husband starts eating soup, but... he ordered a different one and this one has chicken. I try as well, hmm. There's no point in asking because everything will be cold before someone comes to us. My husband starts eating the soup, and then the waitress comes, takes his bowl, and says it's not his soup! :D I wonder if she'll take it to the person who ordered it. :D =P After a while, my husband gets his soup. Okay, we eat our dishes and wait. We can splurge today and maybe have some dessert. ;) But we don't have the strength to wait another hour hoping someone will come to us. We try to summon anyone from the staff with our eyes, but everyone moves as if in a trance, avoiding customers' gazes. Finally, my husband goes to get the menu. We quickly choose a dessert, but to eat it, we have to order it first... My patience has long since run out! I go to the lady at the kitchen and say I want to order dessert. I succeed, and surprisingly, we get it relatively quickly. Now just to pay. The waitress seems to come alive as she quickly brings the bill and can even muster a smile on her face. She doesn't leave the bill, probably waiting for a good tip... This restaurant marked the end of our dining out. Despite being located in such a cool place, the Mojito Restaurant is not one that can be recommended. The food is okay, but the service definitely needs improvement, and the entire staff should undergo proper training.
