BURRO UNCHAINED
2024 Sep 25
It’s that time of the year to get together and book the “Bier, Boarden & Bouletten”-Trip and finish up the planning with some serious bookings. 😁 And what better occasion than that to get together for a nice meal. Burro offers a 4-course-meal for €55. But you can also order all the dishes from the menu a la carte. They offer vegetarian and fish / meat options for each course. My personal favorite was the pulpo dish but the blood sausage looked really good as well! 🤤👌🏼

A lovely and relaxed place to enjoy a lovely meal. 👍🏼
I just had this massive craving for “Jägerschnitzel” recently and then I remembered that Youtube video with @finch that I have seen recently where they went to some real honest German places where they serve the “eastern goodies” from our childhood. 😁

It is a place that definitely has those vibes and the appropriate menu! 👌🏼

One guy came in, saying he wants “just a salad today” and after politely asking what he wants with it - chicken, tuna, tofu, … he’s been destroyed by the sentence: “We don’t have salads” before he even had the time to think about it. 🤣 While this might shock many, I do enjoy this kind of conversation. 😅 And for those who will not step into a place without salad - there’s potato salad and cucumber salad available. 👌🏼

What a nice blast from the past this visit has been. 🤩
Beautiful and lively plaza surrounded by some great cafés 👌🏼

What a cool location we dug up for our last meal in Uruguay. 🤩 I really like it when something old is taken and reused - especially when it is reused as a restaurant or a bar. 👍🏼😁
Their dishes are served with amazing sourdough bread and their selection of baked goods was quite amazing. 🤤 Add a really good coffee and a fresh orang juice to your order and you are off to a good start of the day - like us! 😁

Absolutely perfect “humpday” celebration! 😁 The atmosphere has been very relaxing and Anja made sure that we have everything we need whenever we need it. 👍🏼 It was really refreshing to experience a different German restaurant than simply Schnitzel and Haxe (which I do love to but… 😉) but some other classics from all over Germany. The dish that lured us in was their “Bass-Kaus” (= Labskaus) but everything else was absolutley delicious as well. Our favorite appetizer was the Matjes con salsa. 🤤 Between the two mains - “Wildbolognese” & “Bass-Kaus” - the Bass-Kaus won the competition. 🤤 Last but not least, the “Apfelküchle” (apple pie) took us by surprise. It looked like a Schnitzel, covered in cinnamon and simply fantastic! 🤩 The cook himself had a chat with us about this delicious dish. Thank you Bernd! 🙏🏼 We had amazing dinner and you guys definitely went onto my “favorite German restaurants” list for recommendations whenever people ask. 😁👌🏼
