My friend and I were asked to move from our table to accommodate other guests and there was some kind of debris in my friends water. There was also an unpleasant odor in my water glass that smelled kind of fishy. It just did not make for a good experience, considering I spent nearly $60 on two appetizers and 2 entrees. Honestly, the food was ok but overpriced. We had the scallion pancakes, dumplings in chili oil, dan dan noodles and ramen. The server also took the itemized receipt away, when I provided my card which I thought was odd.
I was expecting a way better experience here, considering the reviews. I don't think I'll be back.

This is the second location I have tried. I got the special burger of the day (beef burger w/white cheddar, white bbq sauce, mushrooms, onions, arugula). The burger itself still seemed a bit dry. I asked for it to be cooked medium rare, but it was definitely well done, no pink to be seen. Tasty condiments! But the bottom bun was soggy. Very messy to eat. Also asked for pimento cheese on the side, didn't care for it. It was too watery. Truffle fries were ok, still seemed like the fries were not fresh. Had a similar experience at the VaHai location. I guess I'm just not a fan of this chain, overall. I had read such great reviews and was just expecting more.
3.5 rounded up to 4 stars for great/friendly service.

So glad I found this place!!! Super cute spot. I was hoping to get the BBQ pulled pork, but they were out of jackfruit. So I opted for the mofonguitos quinoa carne and a beef & mac empanada. I also got a homemade tamarind juice. So yummy!!
Definitely recommend getting a couple more sauces for the quinoa/bottom ($1 extra for more sauce).

For the price, I was not impressed. I came here for breakfast because it was rated so well. $15 for 3 pancakes that were closer to the size of silver dollar pancakes and 1 banana (with berry compote), barely any syrup. 2 eggs were an additional $4, and not even served with toast. My companion had french toast with sides of eggs and bacon, and a cup of coffee. The flavor was good and server seemed nice but this place is definitely overpriced. $20 (nearly $50 total, including my friends food) for a simple breakfast that left me still hungry. 🥴 I think I'll look elsewhere next time.
