I've been coming to this museum since I was a 1st year at UofC over 10 yrs ago, I've always felt welcome and warmth from the staff here. The museum itself usually has an exhibit dedicated to art education, so the overarching theme here is to welcome outsiders into the art space - it's a literal extension of the classrooms located across the garden area, serving to offer art education and experience to the larger public. There are also free storage lockers so you can view the exhibits unencumbered, and indoor/outdoor tables and seating. Nowadays, I bring my kids with me and the museum staff always goes out of their way to make sure my kids fully enjoy their time here. We all love the Smart Museum.
