The museum beautifully showcases the works of sculptor Mahmoud Mukhtar. I found his work impressive and graceful. The layout and organization of the museum is appropriate. Please follow the rules while you are there and do not touch the works! Best to leave raucous children at home.
Beautiful Opera house. My second time at the ballet, but first viewing of the Cairo Opera Ballet Company. I loved the atmosphere! The seats are okay.
Cool place, one of the only art-house cinemas in Cairo. They put out unique indie films regularly. Cafe seating could be revamped.
A palace imbued with history and beautiful craftsmanship of yore.
Spend at least 2 hours here, and try to really reflect and take it all in. Look up at the ceilings! It really is a masterpiece. Each room has a different ornamental style, each so interesting. The palace is relatively well-maintained with some areas closed for repairs. The private collections Museum is mostly empty. The taxidermy Museum is fun to see. The gardens are sadly closed off to visitors. Be sure to visit on a cool day, as there is lots of walking and it's quite warm and humid throughout the entire property (even indoors). The tour guides are young students, and I'd have appreciated more knowledge about the subject matter, beyond the superficial facts. Some of the signage is informative, but others aren't as interesting with many grammatical errors.
