Brooklyn Steel

I really liked the layout of this venue. Not a bad spot to stand. Great staff and average Brooklyn drink prices. Die Antwoord crushed too!
A solid museum that is free but you should donate for sure. Very nice collection including the 2nd Lucretia. Hadnt been in years and only complaints would be many of the pieces are listed in the website as displayed and they are not. Given the layout finding pieces without the website accurate is a crap shoot. Gift shop is below expectations. Limited representation of art actually in the museum. No prints at all and all sorts of items related to famous art not held at MIA and items completely not related to art at all.
This is an amazing little park. We were fortunate enough to me walking by when the military band was playing and stopped to listen. Great band but also super cool monuments. Check out the pics! Crazy detail to these bronze plates.

We did the night 3 hour tour with Sally and we couldn’t have enjoyed it more. We have done many a bus type tour over the years all over the world and most are terrible or worse. This one was awesome. Expert guided. Perfect placement of stops. Time at a couple seemed off but hey its 3 hours so depending on traffic you get a little more or less. Very happy with everything and highly recommend this tour.
This is a great stop if you have an hour to spare. $8 admission is well worth it. Staff are super friendly and helpful. 2nd floor senate and house floors are cool to see but the hall of oddities is where the place stands out. Taxidermy, bones, 2 headed calf and pig and so much more. This is a shockingly awesome thing to have in an old state house. Main floor features primarily the voting room and the court hall. Unfortunately barely a mention of the witch trails with zero mention of the hangings. Courthouse is mainly set with story boards about Amistad. In the basement they are renovating but Most is open and includes additional local historical facts and artifacts. Very much enjoyed seeing everything and learned more than I expected. Go check it out!
