I got the Reuben here - which is a pretty well-known sandwich made with corned beef, cheese, and sauerkraut
I was a little bit surprised when I saw this on the menu - because it's not something you'd traditionally see in Seattle, but I thought generally the sandwich was pretty good. I haven't had an NYC Reuben, so I can't judge it off of that, but from my experience with other sandwiches it was pretty solid
The weakest part of this might have actually been the beef. While nothing especially wrong with it, it mostly just tasted like deli roast beef you can get at the grocery store. I wasn't picking up on any of the salt that the meat had been cured in. This also applied to the au jus, which also didn't taste like anything at all
The other parts of the sandwich were pretty good, though. The bread was really thick and had a crunchy texture on the outside. There was a thick layer of swiss cheese that tasted really good. The sauerkraut was fine - although I couldn't taste it much
This also came with your choice of fries or tater tots, and I picked tots. I got a decent amount of tots, with ketchup and a chipotle mayo-like dipping sauce. The tots were pretty solid - I wish they were seasoned with a little bit more than just salt, but the good chipotle mayo sauce alleviated some of that
For the price of around $20, getting two halves of a pretty large sandwich, and a decent-sized side of tater tots is actually a pretty good deal
Overall, a pretty decent sandwich and a lot of food, but could be better if the meat was improved. 8/10

I got the Chicken Teriyaki and Gyoza combo meal here
Starting off, I have to mention the incredible portion size here - the amount of chicken is wild. As I was taking them out to mix in
with the rice, I kept pulling out more and more pieces of chicken from what seemed like a never-ending part of the takeout container.
This chicken was cooked perfectly, and more importantly, each piece was very meaty. There was a ton of juiciness present, and each bite really felt like you were getting a full mouthful of chicken. Additionally, there were a good amount of char marks on the chicken - which indicates that they were grilled to a high quality. I got a nice smoky flavor from that
I did feel a lack of sauce from the chicken pieces, though. I really didn't get that 'teriyaki' sweet flavor at all, and each chicken piece didn't really feel coated enough with sauce in general. This became a problem when I was mixing it with the rice - as there really wasn't enough
to coat the rice that much, and this resulted in the rice experience being drier than I'd like
There was sauce given as a side, but it was a pretty small cup, and most of it was used to dip the gyoza in. Two cups - one for the gyoza and one for the teriyaki - would've been better
The rice was cooked pretty well - I thought the grains were soft but not mushy
The gyoza was alright - it was crispy only in a few parts, but i thought the filling tasted pretty good
The side salad was also about average - the dressing was an interesting combination of ranch and vinegar that was decent
The price was on the expensive side for teriyaki (around 20 bucks), but the portion size was pretty massive. I get that rice is pretty cheap,
but the amount of chicken certainly was impressive. This lasted me two full meals.
Overall, pretty solid chicken that was lacking a bit on the sauce, at a great portion. 8.15/10

got Duck Rolls & Prawns
so these were technically two small plates - around 18 dollars each
here’s the dilemma with this place
the food was really damn good - the duck was incredibly fresh and tender, and wrapped perfectly in a mint-like leaf to add amazing flavor.
the best part was the garlic prawns, though. oozing with cream, these prawns were astoundingly juicy and immensely satisfying to eat.
as far as just taste, i don’t think i’ve had better seafood in my life than those prawns
here’s the issue, though - there’s just so little of it - especially when compared to the price
we ended up sharing the two dishes, as our server assured us this would be enough for 2 people - coming to about 18-20 per person, and this was simply not close to enough food - no matter how good it tasted.
as a restaurant, it’s a massive failure if guests are debating what place to eat at next in the middle of their current meal at that restaurant
so despite the fact that it was really good food, it was essentially just really good appetizers, and this made it an experience i wouldn’t come back to
overall: 9/10 food, 5/10 experience for a total
6.5/10

got the Quattro Formaggi Ravioli & Banana Cheesecake
it started off with some bread as a starter - which I didn't really like that much
Ok, for the ravioli
I thought the surrounding sauce was pretty fantastic
Like the description says, it combined, tomato, garlic, and cheese, to create a really good flavor profile that each
ravioli piece was able to sit in and soak up
It was good enough that after finishing the ravioli I was just eating the sauce and I found this highly enjoyable
The spinach was also pretty good
The part that disappointed me was the ravioli itself
Firstly, the outside was a bit too soft and broke apart too easily - I prefer mine to be slightly more firm
Secondly, while the inside had cheese, I didn't like the taste of the cheese that much
I expected each bite to be filled with cheese that delivered great flavor - and while the cheese was there,
I didn't think it was a) as stuffed as it could be and b) as flavorful as I expected
I've had significantly better cheese raviolis at other Italian restaurants before - where they don't skimp on the cheese
and taking a bite of a ravioli means getting a full cheese experience
The best part of this meal was probably the chicken I added - this was soft, cooked well, and when coated with the sauce
tasted quite excellent. This just reinforces my feeling that if the ravioli itself was better this really could've been a very good dish
Without the chicken I would've had a pretty negative feeling towards this meal
The ravioli + chicken came out to nearly 30 dollars, and while the portion size was pretty good, maybe slightly more would've been better,
or at least more cheese in the ravioli. Thankfully there was a good amount of chicken
For dessert I got the banana cheesecake
This was certainly interesting - I'm not a big fan of banana typically, but I decided to try it here
Starting off, the bottom and top crusts were really good
I found that these really complemented the inner cheesecake filling very well and provided a solid base/top that had great flavor
As for the inner cheesecake filling itself, I'm intrigued
It wasn't as dense as I expected - rather it was filled with mostly cream rather than the traditional cream-cheese based cake mixture - which downgraded it a bit
This meant that unlike traditional cheesecake, this was really easy to eat and plow through very quickly - as the base of the cake was really soft with some light crumbs
mixed in there
It had a pretty strong banana flavor - which I don't know if I loved but I respect for making the decision to have that strong of a flavor in there. There were even banana pieces
mixed into the filling
Lastly, the vanilla wafers on top and whipped cream combined to make a topping incredibly good - the way the circular wafers mixed in created an astoundingly good combination
Overall, this was a pretty satisfying yet expensive meal with a lot of surrounding success but disappointment in the main ingredient. Found the cheesecake to be not top-tier but still pretty good

this looked insane on the outside - sadly, it didn’t quite match those expectations taste wise
there were so many fries it was insane - which normally would be amazing, but with the depth of fries this meant that all the sauce that was on the outside didn’t make its way to the inside
this left all the inside fries without any tzatziki sauce at all
another issue i have is with the sauce - it just tasted sweet rather than the typical tzatziki taste. So when combined with the feta cheese, the fries felt softer and sweeter than they should be
the fries were not crispy at all - i can understand somewhat because of the sauce, but even the fries on the inside were still really soft and broken apart easily - i ate this entire meal with a fork. They were essentially indistinguishable from the chicken towards the end
What made this dish good - though - was the chicken. The chicken shawarma wasn’t just a topping - it was present throughout the fries - and i really enjoyed eating that - it had a fantastic flavor on the outside
at the end, i was trying to find all the chicken i can while ignoring the fries
the portion size was absolutely massive too - i didn’t get anything else and didn’t finish this ( due to time constraints) and still felt really full afterwards
overall, quite a solid dish especially when you bring in the chicken, but the sauce / fries combo was kind of underwhelming especially when you look at the outside.
