Mizumi
2024 Jan 06
Mizumi is one of my go to spots in Vegas. The restaurant offers different styles of Japanese cuisine - from omakase, robatayaki, sushi, and teppanyaki.

The food in itself is quite solid - from their sashimi to their specialty sushi rolls. I also love their Sakura Cocktail.

I will note that some menu items are definitely more “worth it” than others. For example, in my opinion, you can skip on the Crown Honeydew Melon, which goes for $28. If you are not a huge “fruit” person, it probably will not be your cup of tea.

Certain items (like that of their Chocolate Mask) are no longer on their menu. This item was discontinued a few years ago. Apparently due to the grotesque nature of breaking the mask and a red berry sauce seeping out. However, really hope they bring this dessert item back!

Overall, Mizumi is a solid restaurant - when it comes to ambience and food. If you are able to get an early reservation, I would recommend that you ask for a table by their koi pond outside.
Thai Spice Restaurant

I have been to Thai Spice a couple times now - once in the evening with friends, when the restaurant was packed and again as it was time for the restaurant to open. Oh and I cannot forget about the times I ordered DoorDash from here either (loll).

Both times, I have been to this restaurant, I have loved their food.

To be completely honest, after my first visit to Thai Spice, all I could think about was my next visit so I could reorder their Khao Soi. I mean this in the best way possible - their Khao Soi is great as is but another kind of amazing as leftovers. There is just something about allowing both the regular and fried egg noodles to fully absorb the flavorful broth that fully brings the dish together. Between the stewed beef or chicken as protein, I personally prefer the beef (sorry tofu, perhaps next time).

Other menu items I have tried are: their Fresh Shrimp Rolls, Cha Cha Chaa, Crab Rangoon, Tom Kha, and Tom Yum. For the most part, they are solid dishes. Only comment would be that the Cha Cha Chaa and Tom Yum are a tad too salty unless you have a side order of rice or noodles to go alongside these dishes.
