Our times at Pineda beach have always been pleasant. This time, we had gone early to catch the sunrise and we got a treat. A green turtle was laying eggs and then covering them up. This particular beach is quiet and available since it sits along the Space Force air base. One nice feature is that once you leave the sand, there are shower sprays and foot sprays to rinse off and you don’t have to walk through sand again. You go from the boardwalk to the parking lot.
This was my first time having a burger at FiveGuys. Those guys obviously got together and got the “bun to meat ratio” right. The patty was done right just past pink but not over done. The vegetables were crisp and fresh. The fries were real potatoes and salty: just the way I like them. In so many places you have to add the salt but here, it’s done for you and boy is it good. Enjoyed the cool looking soda/pop dispensers. Need to satisfy the burger craving? Do it here!
We visited the BC Rail & Forestry museum with our kids. The boys especially were thrilled to see the authentic trains and the Turn table. We were able to walk through some of the displays as we “socially distanced “ from other families that toured the establishment. The site has buildings as well, of days gone by, of train depots, work shacks, equipment shacks. All of which are furnished with furniture and items from that era. Quite enchanting.
As we walked through the grounds, we found a fully laden cherry tree, Apple trees and a raspberry patch which all had ripe fruit. A very pleasant place to learn from and walk through. Our only disappointment was that the small train that runs the perimeter of the museum yard, was not operational because of COVID 19.
