The Buffet
2024 May 03
We came here for the Dim Sum Buffet. There was quite a large selection of food to choose from: Laksa, Fried Chicken Wings, Gyoza, Chawanmushi, Porridge, Otah Siew Mai, Harkaw, Crystal Dumplings, just to name a few.

My personal favorites would have to be Mee Goreng Mamak, Chicken Feet, and Chili Crab. The Chili Crab gravy was filled with deshelled crab meat; it was simply heavenly.

Not a fan of Hot & Sour Soup, which tasted a little bland, and the Prawn with Wasabi. I couldn’t take a bite of the prawns because of the wasabi. Perhaps it’s better to have it on the side for diners who dislike wasabi?

Overall, we still enjoyed our meals very much and would come back again in the future, especially if Amelyn and Angelli are on duty. Great service from both of them!
We booked the Standard Double Room.

The hotel is very close to JR and train stations. McDonald’s, Lawson, Family Mart, and 7-11 are all around the location. Very convenient!

It has FREE self-help Luggage Lockers at the reception if you arrive before check-in time. All you need is a physical Suica Card or equivalent. Note that the digital/mobile version of these cards doesn’t work on these lockers.

It also has a washer/dryer, ice machines, and vending machines on selected floors.

The room, however, is small. It can be quite difficult to move around if you are not staying alone and have several luggage.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay here!

This is a delayed review. We came here for the CNY Lunch Buffet.

It featured everything from Laksa, Otah, Grilled Lamb, Vegetables, Noodles, Satay, Chili Crabs, Seafood On Ice, to Sashimi, Roti Prata, Fish Curry, Desserts, Chicken Rice, Roast Duck, Beef Rendang, just to name a few.

Overall, it was a good buffet lunch, but there are a few things I would like to point out.

The Satay should not have been already soaked in the Peanut Sauce at the counter. There could be diners who are allergic to peanuts, or simply do not like peanut sauce. Also, serving them fully dipped in the gravy not only took away the original taste of the meat but also made the meat soggy.

I was particularly impressed by the Ice Machine though. It was not the usual crushed ice that all other buffet restaurants provide. It was SHAVED ICE! Almost similar to Snow Ice. I totally enjoyed that.

The servers at the counters behaved as if everyone owed them a living. They were expressionless and non-responsive. Trying to communicate with them was met with a dead-pan face. They did perform their duties though. Perhaps they think "actions speak louder than words"? LOL

A special shoutout to a waitstaff whose name I did not manage to catch. I think his name is Haiyu. He was very friendly, responsive, and greeted us with CNY messages.
