My friends and I decided to check out this exclusive 2-hour escape room called Hong Kong After Dark at Omescape. I've always heard really good reviews from my friends for other escape rooms on the premise! We are particularly exciting about this Hong-Kong themed room because it is triad-related and we watched a lot of these action movies while growing up!
Reservation was made easy online; pay for a deposit, and you pay the rest when you get there. $3 off if you follow/post on social media. All players will have to sign in on a piece of paper, and one of the staff will prompt you to explain the game rules. We were given a walkie-talkie, and you can ask for unlimited help - recommended to ask for help if you've been stuck for 5 minutes!
I guess you don't have to know Chinese to play this escape room game, but it would certainly help if you have a good understanding of the culture! It looks scary inside but it's actually not scary lol. It says to be for 4-10 people. I think having 10 people would be beneficial hahaha... we had 6 and we were still going around like headless chickens! We ended up failing the mission but I'd would 100% go back again (to the same room) just to ace all the mini games and challenges.

Michi Sushi is one of my favourite go-tos for my sushi cravings in North York neighborhood. It is tucked away on Willowdale Avenue (beside Paisano). Very causal, rustic atmosphere, and the staff and chef are friendly.
Their fishes and seafood are always fresh; we enjoy ordering the sashimi omakase, aka chef's choice, and they serve uni! I used to always order this flaming sushi roll where they lit the roll literally in flames in front of you (didn't see it on the menu this time). The cold soba was also delicious; I love my soba with lots of wasabi ^^ It was very thoughtful of the staff to give the two of us one bowl each of broth with ice cubes for dipping the soba :)
Overall, we always enjoy our time at Michi Sushi. We will definitely visit again soon :)

My family went to King Bakery on Lee Tung Avenue, and bought some original puff pastry egg tarts home. The egg tart was delicious, and the shell was very light; I enjoyed it very much.
I've decided to go today and see what else they got, and to my surprise, there are also egg white tart, coconut tart, chicken pie, and even cha siu pie aka BBQ pork.
You can also get tea leaf infused eggs, and Japanese-styled oden bowls (with or without udon). The oden was alright; I think next time I will try it with udon because the soup was pretty tasty.
The shop also opens 7:30am in the morning, I'm definitely heading back tomorrow to get some more baked goods!

The most ginormous Otoro roll I've ever had! Saw it my friend's IG, and couldn't resist ordering some for ourselves for tonight's dinner! I've actually had their Omakase Box ($100) before and the sushi and fish was really fresh! Highly recommend ^^
For dinner, we ordered:
Big Otoro Roll ($90)
Sashimi Tray ($30)
Tamago Egg Omelet ($6)
I DM'd Cho San Sushi on IG to order the Big Otoro Roll or you can call in to place your order. The sashimi tray and tamago were pre-packaged and ready to go in the self-serve fridges... just help yourself and pay at the counter!

Highly recommend the interactive, dessert-making workshops hosted by Silian Cakery!! We enjoyed the Sweet Date with Lavender Workshop so much that we decided to join the Sweet Date with Jasmine Workshop last week!
We each got to make a Jasmine Chiffon Cake from scratch, and trust me, I had zero talent and it comes to baking, and little did I know, my cake turned out SO AMAZING! My family devoured it in seconds lol.
Silian's dessert recipes are very light and delicious. The refreshments she makes for the workshop always amaze me! Can't wait to try more creations ^^
